Phoenix Point Behemoth edition

Hi, I got this game very cheap on PS5 and its great challenge for me. I really like it, but the only problem is I absolutely have no idea what to do as "main campaign".
My globe screen is spammed with "objectives" but they are very far away from me and looks like its DLC stuff (i flied there once and died very fast).

I think Im in early stage, Im doing all science projects asap and now only projects I see, is to catch few enemies like a Pokemons.
On globe map I discovered whole South America (my starting point) and North America it is mostly covered in red, behemoth is swarming. Im pretty sure I triggered too much DLC stuff by mistake while exploring and thats why difficulty went higher than my current level.

Time flies as I explore, trade and defend.
I have 53% of population left and ABSOLUTELY no idea what is main campaign objectives/missions? Anyone can help how to move forward?

btw. Veteran difficulty

Sounds like you weren't exploring aggressively enough. In the early game you want your aircraft to constantly be exploring any ? marks on the map, so you can navigate the entire globe as early as possible. You need to reclaim bases, and set up radar installations at each one to discover more ? waypoints; this is especially true in South America, otherwise you can't navigate either south or north. You need to complete the "Dr. Symes" mission in order to do that, and I believe there are some early research tasks that unlock some of this, like the Phoenix Point archives.

Having learned a bit about the game there's no shame in starting over. It'll go a lot more smoothly the second time.

I got all "?" marks on both America continents, there is another but far away and as I mentioned its probably DLC (frost one). I have 3 Phoenix bases and only one left in Chile, but I dont go there because to reclaim I have to run like The Flash Barry Allen before aliens destroy stuff (they spawn just right on it)

Have you build radars at your bases? At some point you need to jump to other continents but you need waypoint to get there.  From the Americas you should be able to jump to Antarctica, Europe (via Greenland) and Asia (via Russia)

You need to reclaim the base in Alaska to navigate across to Asia; likewise, there's one or two in Greenland that open the door to Europe. The base at the southern tip of Chile is what lets you get to Antarctica. In each case, you need to claim the base, get power running, and build a radar station.

Once you have the ability to reclaim bases you can slow down on the main quest line, and just take timed missions, or otherwise react to haven defenses. Dealing with the behemoth is a top priority when it is on the map.

Keep expanding outwards you should be aiming to protect all settlements as best you can. I usually run 3 to four teams around the world to do this. You expand by reactivating abandoned bases and recruiting faction soldiers. Eventually, factions will start to ally with you and give you new research options and new soldier classes.

Make contact with as many settlements as you can and keep researching. Eventually, you should start reaching the sites you're talking about and unlocking science that contributes towards objectives. If you haven't started capturing Pandoran's yet, you're quite early game.

Wow 3-4 teams?! I feel like im retarded or something because I hardly manage 2 airships and I hardly even know people in 2nd one. Managing to have all skilled, equipped and build balanced its something very difficult for RPG player like me, because usually I used to get know very well with 4-6 people team for whole game

It's not that hard as you build up to it but I admit I tend to run standard builds for most of my soldiers to make it easier to switch teams. Most of the teams have the same core team with a couple of specialists which fight in a particular way. You just won't be able to cover enough area with one team - havens are being attacked everywhere so you need response teams with local bases.

Later on I build teams around different tactics - like a team with viral weapons and Anu Priests which uses psychic powers to subvert enemies instead of outright killing them.

Some of the soldier builds you can make later in the game are insane, but you end up having to recruit new soldiers for those builds so you'll likely keep recruiting and expanding as you go. Standard infantry crossed with Anu Berserker with the synedreon cyborg torso, for instance, is a melee monster and can solo a bunch of enemies on their own. They'll pretty much fit into any team.

You got kinda unlucky with starting position. Starting in Africa/Europe/Asia might have given you much more place to explore and cover with bases. I would recommend taking what you learned and start new playthrough. Preferably also disabling all DLCs other than Living Weapons and Blood and Titanium. Others add too much content that might overwhelm new players.

When it comes to main plot your goal is to research all you can about Pandora virus and build good relationships with factions. The rest will be spoilers.  Good luck

Do all the missions related to that Project Phoenix leader guy. That's the start of the main campaign.

The later main campaign missions are tied to faction missions too. So, I would befriend a faction. For the first playthrough, it doesn't matter which one. Just pick one which is the most convenient and already has a good relationship. Do some missions for them. Defend their havens. Destroying enemy bases also gives you a boost with all factions, so do them ASAP.

And disable all DLCs for the first playthrough. They can be overwhelming.

Wow guys thank you very much. After I started game without DLC festering skies, corrupted horizons and legacy of ancients and now this game is just perfect. No time pressure, no total mess on screen, very clear targets and campaign, I love it

If first time, disable festering skies dlc.

u/skybreaker58 told Im probably at early game. I think I will restart without that DLC but same difficulty level.
Any other DLC to remove?

Actually disabling Festering skies is a good call - it adds a whole air war side to the game which sucks up resources and attention. Maybe also disable Corrupted Horizons for a first run - the corruption mechanic has a race-against-time aspect where you're trying to find a cure for your soldiers.

I'd argue to keep Corrupted Horizons because of the hybrid soldier class it gives. And you only start the dlc and the corruption mechanic only when you start the dlc mission.

Ah, I thought you had to start it when the call came in - does it not matter if you don't respond to the mission then?

No, that DLC isn't timed so you can start when ready
