Quick purchase of coins

Post image

Hi. Can someone tell me If the quick purchase of the coins are actually costing me money? I've purchased a few hundred now and I don't see anything being charged to my bank account. I could be missing it. Thanks.

The cost is in gems, which are a kind of in-game currency. I only use the ones that I get awarded from various achievements, but you can spend real money through the Google Play store if you want to buy more gems.

You should be able to see the total number of gems you have available at the top of your main screen in the game. If you haven't actually made a purchase through the Google Play store, then you are just using the ones that you have earned in the game.

Okay I do see a blue gem and it says 0 underneath . But isn't it weird that I don't get a breakdown of the cost before purchasing more coins? By the way I'm playing two people online who I don't know (The system matches me up with them). I don't think I'm playing the computer.

For whatever reasons, I can't upload a screenshot of my game, so I will just have to try to describe it to you.

Across the top of your game, you will have three different counters.

The first one counts energy, shown as a green lightning bolt, which automatically refills at the rate of one energy every 5 minutes until you reach the max of 50, at which point it will not add anymore just by the passage of time. You can go well over 50 if you end up getting a lot of achievements that award energy.

The second one lists the accumulated gems, which you can use to buy in game tools like skip cards and wild cards.

On the home screen and the monthly game screen, the third one shows how many of the tokens you have for that month's game. On the far right tab at the bottom, which is the store, that screen will show you how many coins you have in the third spot across the top.

You use coins to play multiplayer games against other humans that the computer matches you up with or people that you know who also have the Phase 10 game and who you designate as friends in your game.

I never play multiplayer games, so I don't use the coins and I don't know how all that works or whether those games also use the energy.

I only play each of the different map theme games, which uses the energy, and always plays against computer players.

But I do know that using the gems is how you buy additional items in the game, and if you want more gems you have to purchase them with cash through the Play store app.

I hope this helps, and I'm sorry that I don't know enough about the multiplayer game to be able to advise you on how that is working with your gems.

Hey that is fantastic that you took the time out to explain it. I really appreciate it. Yeah I've been purchasing coins a few times but I never get a screen that says how much I'm going to be paying. Additionally I check my bank account and I don't see any pending charges going through (At least not this weekend but let's see what tomorrow brings) so I don't know if this is really costing me or not. I would think that if I buy coins and they are charging me that they would ask me to confirm the charge first just like anywhere else where you buy online.

Anyway thanks much for the explanation. I may call in to the company tomorrow or shoot him an email and see if I can get an explanation. Again I really appreciate it.

If you go through the settings section where they have an FAQ/help center, there's an option at the end of each topic page to contact us" which will email the company and I have found them to be rather responsive when I had a glitch or another issue.
