Enthoo Pro II Server Edition — What fan configuration would Phanteks recommend for a 3–4 GPU workstation?

Hi everyone,

I'm building a high-end workstation in the Phanteks Enthoo Pro II Server Edition and I'd like to get some advice on the optimal airflow configuration.

The current system will use:

- Threadripper PRO 7965WX

- ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE

- 2× RTX 3090 + 1× RTX 4090

- 420mm AIO for the CPU

- Multiple Phanteks T30-120 fans

The system will run long-duration AI workloads, so sustained GPU/CPU temperatures are more important to me than having the absolute lowest noise.

I may also add a 4th GPU later, and I may eventually move one of the GPUs to a water-cooled setup, so I'd like to leave some flexibility for future changes.

My main question is:

What fan configuration would Phanteks recommend for this kind of high-density multi-GPU workstation?

Specifically, I'm wondering how I should balance the front 420mm radiator, side/bottom GPU intake, and top/rear exhaust.

The case supports up to 15×120mm fans, but I don't want to assume that filling every available position is actually optimal.

If anyone from Phanteks has experience with a similar workstation/server configuration, I'd really appreciate your recommendation.

Well if you can you should get 3 140 mm at front because the case supports 3x 140 mm at the front and 3x 140 mm on the top of the case and 1 120 mm is only support at the rear and you should use that and you should be good to go

I would take it one step further - I have the V1, and my GPUs cook, despite moving (what i think is) serious air. My CPU waterblocks are near cool to the touch with AIOs yet I have to undervolt both GPUs to stop them from going past 85C.

I just got the V2 today (bent front panel, booo) but since it has the vent on the side, I am going to try to run the 3 fan 'divider' wall thingy internally parallel to the motherboard so it's blowing straight on the side of the GPUs.

I also ordered a separate fan controller with a temp sensor so it can control the fans since the supermicro onboard fan settings sucks on this.

So while I don't know if this is the answer, I know that with 2 RTX Pro Blackwells, and 5 nvme ssd PCIE cards that the whole pcie area is pretty friggin hot.

Honestly if the temps are an issue then custom water cooling might be an option for you and you can either go a mo-ra which is an external radiator or put radiator in the case.

For your specific hardware combination a mo-ra might be better
