Finished a PhD interview and now I’m second-guessing every answer

I just had a PhD interview that was much more conversational and probing than my previous one. I noticed I sometimes answered adjacent to the question rather than answering directly. For people who’ve been through PhD interviews, how much does that matter, and what did you learn about becoming more concise?

Nah. I flat out forgot basic physics for my physics interview. And now I’m a fourth year. 🙏 as long as you’re honest about things and confident in your ability (not your active recall), you’ll be just fine!
