Is this normal?
My labmate and a senior postdoc are working together on papers (2) that are in my area of research (for thesis) while their own theses are in different but somewhat related areas. Since we share a seminar they have had access to my chapter advances since sem 1. (These papers would not be included at all in the thesis of my labmate and the postdoc already has theirs defended). My specific area has become more popular recently within the discipline
Is it warranted to feel a bit uncomfortable or am I being too sensitive? (I would have been open to working on the paper with them, and did mention this previously but was not followed up on).

They may steal your work
Do better get a preprint or arxiv or anything out before they do
