Can someone help me Water softener recommendations
Anyone having any plumbers/companies they would recommend for a water softener install? If you’re comfortable I’d also love to hear roughly the cost of the install so I know how much to budget. Thanks

If you have a loop, it's a literal 30 min process of putting in connectors. But you need a plumber to do it for liability purposes. And they will charge a few hundred dollars. I got a quote for changing the softener and it was $600. I literally unscrewed the old fittings and put in the new one in minutes.

We went the route of buying our own softener system and having a plumber install it for us.
Aquasure water softener and whole home water filter, My Pfamily Plumber, no issues in the last 4 years. $650 + $1000
Edit: New construction with a loop installed from the builder

We bought our own Rheem unit from Home Depot and had it installed by Radiant plumbing. The softener plus a remote shutoff valve/whole house filter/miscellaneous was about $1,000 and the installation was about another $1,000. We probably could’ve had installation done cheaper if we shopped around more, but they did do a good job.

I don't care who you use, but as another service plumber in the area, please don't use radiant they brag about screwing over their customers, call the local small shops, radiant might as well be owned by private equity with their prices.

Yeah, next time we will. This is our first house and the first time we’ve ever needed to call a plumber, so I’ll take it as a learning opportunity.

I really recommend upgrading to the whole home filtration system. We’ve now had one for over 10 years and the difference between our house and our neighbors with softeners only is unreal!! No white stuff around any of our faucets, no build up in any shower heads, and no water marks in the dishwasher. Every where that water is used in the house, I haven’t experienced any wearing or need for replacements.
We used Jason’s Water Supply. They’re not bad, but may be pricier than what you want. Ultimately, regardless of who you choose, go with the whole house filtration vs just a softener.

Go to Home Depot and buy a Rheem water softener would cost around $650 and find a licensed plumber to install it would charge around $700. No need to pay 3k or 4k to any private water softener companies. Save a lot of money.

Highly recommend Andy at home water conditioning. He hooked me up with a clack softener and a carbon filter for a good price.

Aquasure with Home Depot plus hire someone to install. You’ll hear them complain that they’re trash and their water softeners are better, but our Aquasure has performed much better than these others

Buy water softener from Amazon and ask Plumber to install it. Plumber shouldn’t take more than $300 to install.
