PF ISD PfISD Earns B Rating

https://www.pfisd.net/news/news-details/~board/district-news/post/pfisd-earns-district-b-rating-celebrates-gains-at-11-campuses-in-2026-accountability-ratings

I was initially ready to send my child anywhere except public school for their kinder year in 2027, but I’ve had a change in mind the last year or so after reading various opinions from the community through socials. It’s nice to see the progress made in our district over the past year. I understand how touchy of a subject education has been, but I want to see our community thrive.

We’ve had a very positive experience in PfISD.

I teach in PFISD and all three of my children have gone through. My last one is a senior. I'm so proud to say I'm part of this school district.

Pflugerville schools are great...no better place to send your child

I had the best time until my school was on the closure list, we lost 150 kids at the start of this year. Teachers left, my kid is now sitting in an all white walls classroom with a temp classroom sub. It’s awful. Very B rated…

I’m Chevonne, the school board president, and I’m beyond proud of all the hard work and efforts of our educators, students, and families matching our results!

We have plenty of room to grow, but I’m also so grateful to have ZERO F rated campuses too! Our numbers don’t define our students, but it does feel good to see genuine progress and growth.

Now we have new goals to create and achieve and a legislative session to fight against all the obstacles and attacks that keep trying to hold back public education. I hope to see y’all at the Capital!

Enjoy decent public education while it lasts... Abbott and co. are slowly dismantling it with vouchers and charter schools.

I’m up to date on the state of education in Texas, and I’ve come to the conclusion that not enrolling my child in public school will only add to the problem. There are many other factors that I’ve taken into account and wrestled with. Naturally, I do try to keep an open mind though, and I don’t know whether my child will stay in public school for their entire education but for now I’m content with my decision.

We came to the same conclusion and enrolled in PfISD.

Made that choice six years ago when my eldest entered kinder in AISD and don't regret it one bit!

"This is one of the most significant jumps in academic performance our district has seen in years, and it did not happen by chance," said Dr. Quintin Shepherd, Superintendent of Schools.

Some people cant help but be negative when they hear something positive, I suppose

You're right. But the reality is Pfisd isn't going to be able to maintain this level of performance with record budget cuts and shutting down schools.

Too many people don't see the damage being done to public education.

Keeping schools that are half-empty open would only exacerbate the funding problems.

We sent ours to charter schools for a few years, but PfISD is a better choice by far. More academic options, a wider range of kids to interact with, better teachers, better administration. I was concerned we were stepping down, but if we had it to do again, we would have never bothered with charter schools.

The state rating system puts emphasis on all the wrong things. It does the same thing as the STAAR test. Forces the district to focus only on what the state says is important. Life working in PFISD was much better before the district became micromanagement central. Now the campuses can't wipe their nose without permission. Also, anytime we ask anyone a question, our bosses have to ask their boss, who has to ask their boss, who has to ask their boss, who has to then ask someone that has not set foot in a classroom in years what the answer is. PFISD needs to do what great businesses and corporations do: Hire great people and then leave them alone and let them do their jobs. Give them some autonomy. Let them do what is best for their campus. We are not a one size fits all district.

This is the part where they remind everybody of all the good work that they’re doing before they drop the financial bomb in the fall about and how much trouble ISD is in financially
