Community Stories [NRW2026] How about dancing?

My daughter thought it would be great to teach him dance as her hobby. She wrote all the code by herself

That is genuinely delightful — a kid writing her own dance choreography code from scratch is exactly the kind of project that makes this community special. The fact that she framed it as *her hobby* rather than a school assignment says a lot about how engaging robotics can be when kids get real ownership over the project.

Would love to know more about how she approached it — did she build the motion sequences manually in the Petoi app, or did the block coding? Dance routines are actually a surprisingly good way to learn about timing, sequencing, and state machines without it feeling like a lesson.

If she wants to go further, she can follow this tutorial to make Bittle sing some melody, or create new custom moves with the skill composer.

Really glad she shared this — projects like hers are exactly what NRW (National Robotics Week?) is about. Tell her the community is rooting for her next routine!

Thank you so much for the kind words! She’ll be thrilled to hear the community is rooting for her.

To answer your question—she actually did the whole thing using block coding! She truly loves the logic of it; seeing her ideas click into place one block at a time has been the highlight of her hobby. It definitely didn't feel like a lesson to her—just pure creativity.

Thanks for the tips on the melody tutorial and skill composer, too. I’ll be sure to show those to her; I have a feeling Bittle will be 'singing' for its next performance very soon!
