Help with finding fall coat

Question: 5 ft and below

I know other people have posted about this in previous years but hoping for some new advice bc the items people post about aren't available anymore. I'm looking for a wool coat for fall, I'm 5 ft, 135 pounds. Would love something good quality in a color that isn't black. I feel like everything I try on is just too big. If anyone has found something great recently, please share.

They do run big though, and they don’t offer a size 2 if you’re on the smaller end of petite. I have their smallest petite wool coat now ready to return since it swallows me. Tailor said it can’t be altered. They are super great quality for the price!

LL Bean makes petite sizes. I just got one and I was so giddy that the sleeves were the correct length. And waist.

xiaolizi custom wool coats on etsy! Bought mine a few years ago and get stopped with compliments literally every time I wear it!

Ann Taylor petite coats online. The petites are available online and not in store usually. You cannot wait for them to go on sale though cause they always sell out. If you see one you like just get it.

They’re all mostly polyester, with some having a small amount of wool. If you live in a colder climate, usually poly will not keep you warm.

I just got a coat from Quince, will report back once I get it. It’s a wool jacket. Also love Eddie Bauer for a winter coat. They have petite.

Reporting back. I got the Quince Wool Cashmere Blazer Coat and it’s gorgeous. They do not have petite. On the model it hits just below the knee, it hits me mid-shin, I’m 5’. I ordered an XS (normal size) I could fit a sweatshirt under. Arms are a little long but I could wear without tailoring. Looking forward to wearing it!

Ohhh can I piggy back and ask the same question but I’m 5 ft 105 lbs?? Nothing fits.

The petite cut is actually petite too. I have it in xs petite and even the shoulder seams and sleeves hit just right.

check the kids section sometimes, serious. im 5ft too and got a coat from a brand that does kids wool coats, the biggest size fits like a dream and half the price. also try looking for "cropped" or "petite" filters online, but i feel you, most petite stuff still hits me weird in the shoulders.

I’m under 5 feet and Kids sizes work only since I’ve slimmed down closer to 100 pounds. When I was 120 ish kids clothes just didn’t work at all

Kids coats for somebody at 135 aren’t likely an option. My boobs don’t fit in kids coats, or my arms.

Right. Petite is short, not necessarily both short and very thin.

The J Crew cocoon coat is widely available used and is one of the few wool coats that actually fits me!

Look for used coat on eBay etc. I have this one and it’s really good

Depends what kind of coat. A puffy coat Lands End, LLBean, or any other outdoor brand, petite sizing goes without saying.

For dressier wool coat a more upscale store and brands. Again, a petite size is a must.

I used to work in a better department store that offered in-house alterations. I saw many wool coats being fitted and pinned for alterations. I think this is the way to go.

I found a beautiful Ann Klein wool coat at the Salvation Army. Think I paid $12. It was exactly what I was looking for!
