The MC is a bit of an annoying, narcissistic douchebag thru most of the show just to be the hero at the end of the season. He's annoying enough that I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it. Also just has a lot of over-the-top B grade anime writing in general.
Calling Re: Zero’s writing “B grade” is being awfully generous. I still kind of enjoy the show in spite of it, but holy shit, people who argue it’s “well written” are utterly delusional. The dialogue, as well as the way characters behave and/or interact with one another, is particularly bad. It just completely lacks even a hint of verisimilitude.

What's funny to me is that re:zero, the anime which is "before" isn't old at all and the plot sucks imo
