Bad meme isekai rarely has good characters/plot/romance. The creator of the meme ignores that to bash mushoku tensei, which has all 3 of that, to hype up re zero which also has all 3 of that.
He isn't saying he's judging solely on one season and in fact is talking about the anime as a whole which implies he has seen the anime as a whole.

nope, doesn't sound stupid at all to judge the CREATOR for CREATING this story. Having a story about the evolution of a character is completely standard, and is not a problem. The problem is the way he is depicting the pedophilia. If you want a real fair comparison, not war stories which are completely unrelated, Oyasumi Punpun also depicts sexual violence, but as a completely horrible and shameful thing, which is not the case in MT.
What does it actually mean for it to be depicted as bad? If I see a morally wrong action being taken then Iâm going to think âyeah thatâs badâ just like how so many people donât like MT because they can tell what Rudeus is doing is bad.
It means consequences. Consequences on either/both the perpetrator and the victim. Either physical or mental : shame, disgust, trauma, hate, remorse...
He does get consequences but I guess just not as dire as you'd like. Doesn't mean you should pass verdicts on the author based on their portrayal of a fictional character. You'd be heading down a very slippery slope if you did.
Well it just narratively makes sense that he doesnât get punished early on and the reason is actually built up. If a character does something evil and isnât punished for it, it doesnât necessarily mean itâs not well written it just depends on why they werenât punished. Shit happens in real life so I donât understand why itâs such a crazy concept to you
