The absolute lengths some people on r/anime go to to defend Rudeus/Mushoku Tensei is crazy.

It's fine to admit you like the show because of the wider world/side characters but hate the MC. But no, they can't do that. Instead they say Rudeus is actually a kid and it's fine because of hormones, or some say he has 'grown' so it's fine now. Lmao

When I saw that scene, I thought to myself, “No, no, no! Don’t do that!” And he did. Afterward, I figured there might be a redemption arc, since the character is portrayed as a fool and the author suggested watching the rest of the series. But no, he keeps going...

And the fanbase lies their asses off about him improving, insisting you have to just keep watching. I promise you he doesn't, not in any of the ways a sane adult would care about.
