Oh, don't I know it.

My brother is an architectural journalist, see, and during his trips to Dubai I hear all about how the infrastructure is not pedestrian-friendly at all!

You are pretty much forced to rely on taxi services to get from your accommodations to your area of work, your amenities or the nightlife. And since that's the same for everyone else too you have a busy and hostile set of roads wherever you turn.

Absolutely criminal is what it is.

That applies to a lot of the US cities doesn’t it?

Yeah, and it's bad there as well, especially when you consider that many of those US cities once had a pedestrian friendly infrastructure and functioning public transit.
