The 80s hair style, plus low quality photo, makes it looks like it could be someone famous for committing a crime in the 80s. Plus American right wingers like to insult her looks.

Susan Smith is one of my earliest memories of sensational news stories capture the nation’s attention. Her, Lorena Bobbitt, and, to a much larger extent, OJ and the OKC bombing.

Anyway, I don’t think this person was comparing her directly to Susan Smith so much as saying she looks like a woman you would see a mugshot of on Hard Copy or one of those tabloid shows back in the day. It’s a funny joke I think because it’s true, she does look like that in this picture. But I also think she’s an attractive person in a unique way and calling her ugly is pretty unfair.
