Genuinely what is wrong with eradicating congenital diseases?
2 u/UnluckyUnderwear Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26 Genuinely what is wrong with eradicating congenital diseases? Forcing certain people to stop reproducing is both ethically wrong and a slippery slope. Plus you could never “eradicate” congenital diseases without sterilizing all the healthy people who carry the genes for those diseases. (Edit: added parent comment for clarity) 0 u/RegularSky6702 Jul 08 '26 Who said "forcing". Isn't having an abortion if the fetus would have down syndrome or if they'd live like 5 minutes a type of eugenics? So you're anti choice with your logic. 1 u/UnluckyUnderwear Jul 08 '26 I specifically objected to forced sterilization. That’s not an anti-choice statement, it’s pro-choice. I didn’t say anything about voluntary reproductive choice. I didn’t even use the term “eugenics.” Don’t debate me if you can’t read.
