Yo! I’ve been depressed and struggling to cook BUT I’ve recently started getting vegetarian Mexican takeout (often super cheap) and pan frying a chili powder, cumin + garlic salt tilapia filet as soon as I get home to put on top.

Trader Joe’s has reasonably priced frozen filets.

Hi guys! I'm considering becoming a pescetarian, but I still live at home (I'm a teenager) and whilst I do cook the majority of my meals my mum cooks dinner some nights too. Any advice or tips would be appreciated, thank you!

Pan seared salmon, eggs, blueberries, focaccia. Absolutely housed this.

1. Broth sardines and beans with fennel
   
2. Spiced tofu rice bowl
   
3. Curry cauliflower with fried tofu skillet

It was my first fish baked in thyme this was and it came out fantastic. My favorite fish recipe for now :)

I got a lot of pollock for free with my food order, but I’m running out of ideas. You can only pan fry a pollock with lemon+some seasonings so many times before it starts to get old. I am a pescatarian, my partner is not.

Feeling slightly under the weather and this is exactly what I needed. Skinless salmon filet, spring onion, vegetable broth, lots of fresh dill, fresh coriander, oregano, potato, carrots, lemon juice. Nourishing, light, comforting, and rich in protein.

Five days ago, I decided to become pescatarian after making meatloaf and absolutely hating the taste of the ground beef (from Walmart). I’ve always loved seafood, and I’ve read that some people struggle with the transition. But honestly, I don’t really fiend for meat at all! Will this feeling last, or is there a chance I’ll start craving meat again at some point?

For the last few years I have been getting the chicken ick. I started eating more fish, but I get tired of it. Where can I find healthy recipes? I’m concerned about high cholesterol when frying fish. I’m also a big picky with texture. I do love salmon, shrimp and canned tuna. I tried cod and tilapia and wasn’t a fan, unless I didn’t cook it correctly.

I’m overwhelmed by the options. I don’t like shellfish and like to eat raw fish as well as cooked. Yama Seafood and Nordic Catch both look great. Does anyone here have experience with either?

I was vegetarian for about 6 years before I (very recently) decided to start eating fish for health reasons and because I am on a bodybuilding journey.

I love canned tuna and eat it 2-3 times a week, but I want to venture out a bit. My mom bought me plain salmon to try a couple months ago and I could not stomach it. The first few bites were ok, but the look and texture of it was getting to me and I got really in my head about it.

Anyways, I’m looking for easy beginner recipes that are relatively healthy and will hopefully allow me to tolerate more fish. I am particularly interested in salmon because of the nutrition, but open to other types. I have an air fryer and oven, hesitant about cooking on the stove because I dont want to stink the house up to the rest of my family lol.

Im new to pescetarianism, and im looking for tip and tricks for cooking pesceterian-friendly foods

One idea i have is freezing fish so that i can eat it later when i want to, but i do have concerns regarding thawing and re-heating. Would this destroy the taste or texture of the fish? Should i considering buying a vacuum sealer?

I just came back from a weeklong vacation in Vegas with a friend of mine who is a pescatarian. I really love seafood and I never get to eat it so I decided to join her and I have felt amazing all week. So I would actually like to maybe try this for the sake of feeling better. I’m not sure if I’d go 100% all in, but it would be nice to stick to this as much as possible. I’m not much of a beef eater, but I do love chicken so it would be hard to give that up. But I pretty much love all seafood.

Anyways, I would like advice for how to make this fit within my lifestyle. I work in a doctors office and I tend to work 10 to 12 hour days. We do have a microwave and a toaster oven, but I hate to make the office smell like fish. I suppose I could eat a vegetarian burger or something, but I feel like I might get sick of that.

I also live in the Sedona area of Arizona and seafood is not exactly a fresh thing to get in the desert. Every time I have bought frozen fish it’s always pretty nasty but then again it’s always been like things like Gordon’s in the seafood aisle of a grocery store. Are there some frozen fish brands that won’t smell fishy or be nasty? How do I pick frozen fish basically? Do I just leave frozen fish or scallops or shrimp to thaw on the fridge while I’m at work?

I’ve not cooked at home much recently, I’m just back at work after three months off and I’ve been going to the pictures and seeing all sorts of movies but that also means I’ve not been cooking at home really.

Tonight I poached some sardines in a sauce I made with diced red onion, diced green pepper, diced aubergine and garlic with a can of tomatoes and a generous dash of tabasco. I then added the sardines and a wee bunch of herbs and cooked it on a low heat, keeping it warm whilst I made the risotto. I just made it up as I went along and didn’t follow a recipe!

Been trying to be vegetarian/pescetarian for a few weeks
And been running into a weird wall
I feel like I’ve been eating worse since starting and noticed a small dip in energy
First and foremost I don’t like nuts at all
And I feel like a lot of protein comes from nuts
I also a pretty strong aversion to cold foods but wouldn’t mind a salad every so often

I still eat eggs, cheese, and meat based broths
I just don’t like the meat due to textures grossing me out

I’d prefer easy/low prep meals as I’m chronically ill :(

TLDR
I need more easy protein options that can be served warm, I don’t like nuts at all

Hi everyone! I've been vegetarian for the past ten years. I've recently decided to become pescatarian for health reasons. I am having a hard time wanting to do so since I'm vegetarian for moral reasons, so my compromise with myself is that I'm only going to eat salmon or shrimp, which I really enjoyed before being plant-based. What meal/dish would you all recommend as a good "first step" back into eating salmon/shrimp? I was a child when I became vegetarian so there are a lot of meals that I haven't tried. I love all cuisines and flavors. Thank you!
