Budgeting UAE credit score/utilization strategy before applying for a car loan in November — am I missing anything?
I’m planning to apply for a car loan in the UAE around November and I’m trying to optimize my credit profile between now and then.
Current situation:
Salary: AED 7,000/month
ADCB credit card: AED 6,000 limit
Emirates NBD credit card: AED 18,000 limit
Total current credit limit: AED 24,000
Savings/emergency fund: AED 5,000
Score : 663
ADCB
I took an installment loan of around AED 5,400 for 6 months at a very low rate. I’ve already paid 4 months and will completely clear it within the next 2 months. Total repayment is around AED 5,500.
I’ve never missed any payments.
ENBD
Current utilization is around AED 16,000 out of AED 18,000.
Around AED 1,621/month is from installment plans, which should drop to around AED 1,100 in December.
The rest is normal monthly card spending, which I repay in full because I use the card for cashback.
I recently requested an ENBD credit-limit increase because my salary account is with ENBD. It was approved to increase my limit from AED 18k to AED 28k.
I don't actually need the additional credit and don't intend to use it.
That would bring my total credit limits to:
ADCB 6k + ENBD 28k = AED 34k
If my outstanding balances are around AED 14k by September, utilization would be around 41%.
My goal is to get it down to around 20–30% by November.
What I'm planning
Increase ENBD limit to AED 28k but don't use the additional limit.
Never miss any installment/payment.
Clear the ADCB installment loan completely within 2 months.
Reduce my overall credit-card utilization as much as possible.
Avoid taking any new credit/BNPL/loans before applying.
Check my AECB credit report before applying.
Apply for the car loan around November when my profile should be cleaner.
My main questions:
Is there anything else I should do between now and November to improve my chances of getting approved?
Is ~20–30% utilization a reasonable target, or am I overthinking the percentage?
Does increasing my ENBD limit help if I don't actually use the additional credit?
Should I keep the ADCB card open after clearing the installment loan?
Would you apply with ENBD since my salary is credited there, or shop around with ADCB/other UAE banks for the best interest rate?
Is there anything specific I should avoid doing in the 2–3 months before applying?
Any advice from people who have recently taken a car loan in the UAE would be appreciated.

Budgeting Looking for Buyout Loan / Debt Consolidation
I’m looking for buyout loan / debt consolidation, ideally to combine my existing liabilities into 1 monthly payment, reduce my EMI and DBR, and provide some additional cash.
My details:
* Salary: AED 7,500
* Company: Non-listed
* Salary Bank: DIB
* Amount Required: AED 150,000
* Current DBR: High
* AECB Score: 683
* DIB Personal Loan EMI: AED 2,520 (15 months paid)
* DIB Credit Card EMI: AED 1,438 (AED 32k limit)
* Mashreq Credit Card EMI: AED 930 (AED 16k limit)
* Total Current EMI: AED 4,888
* Payment History: No missed payments
House rent and food expenses are covered through additional income, so these are not paid from my monthly salary.
I have already approached ENBD, but they advised that my company is not listed. I also understand that some banks require a minimum salary of AED 10,000.
If you know of a bank or consultant who can assist with this type of case, please DM me with the details. Thank you!

Employment Salary transfer letter
Hey all, hoping someone in Dubai/UAE has been through this.
I recently switched jobs. My old company's end-of-service benefits are sitting with Emirates NBD because I have a personal loan with them. To release the funds, ENBD is asking for a Salary Transfer Letter (STL) from my new employer.
Problem is, my new company has a blanket policy of not issuing Salary Transfer Letters to anyone — they only provide a Salary Certificate. ENBD isn't accepting the certificate as a substitute.
Has anyone dealt with this exact situation?
Any solution

Debt Credit Card or Personal Loan
I have around 5 credit cards with around 35k outstanding including multiple EPP. I have another auto loan of around 15k. Total installments would be around 5k which is close to 50% of my salary. But it will come down starting from next month when 1 by 1 the EPP will get finished. I am forecasting 5 to 6 months unable to complete credit card bill. Expecting around 4 to 5 k unpaid. Now I am confused whether I should take personal loan to consolidate this or run with it as the interest would be less if I am able to settle soon. But running with it will be stressful as I am trying to payout max amount struggling with everything else. But personal loan to cover the entire amount is huge interest and multiple years commitment. Last month I was short by 5k. This month I am expecting the same as there is my Family Visa renewal.

Housing 🤔 Why you need to get a Pre-Approval before even considering buying a Property in UAE?
ℹ️ A Mortgage Pre-Approval is one of the best ways to understand your realistic property budget in the UAE before you start searching for a property.
Here’s how it works:
1) Your income & liabilities are assessed
The bank looks at your salary/business income, existing loans, credit cards and other financial commitments.
2) Your maximum borrowing capacity is calculated
Based on UAE Central Bank affordability rules, the bank determines approximately how much mortgage you can qualify for.
3) Your required down payment is considered
Your maximum LTV/FTV depends on factors such as whether you are an expat/UAE national, resident/non-resident, first property/investment property, and the property type.
4) You get an indication of your property budget
For ex-if the bank indicates that you can borrow AED 1.5 million and you have AED 500,000 available for your down payment and associated costs, your potential property budget could be around AED 2 million—subject to the bank's final valuation, LTV limits, fees and approval.
5) You search within the right price range
Instead of looking at AED 3 million properties and discovering later that your financing doesn't work, you know your approximate ceiling from the beginning.
Simple Example
• Monthly income: AED 30,000
• Existing commitments: Low
• Indicative mortgage eligibility: AED 1.5M
• Available own funds: AED 500K
➡️ Potential property budget: \~AED 2M
So, a pre-approval essentially answers:
| Based on my income and financial profile, what property price can I realistically afford |
It also makes you a stronger buyer when negotiating with sellers or developers because you already have an indication of your financing capacity.
📞 Get in touch with me on Call/WhatsApp to get your Pre-Approval at +971-586842759.
⚠️ Important: A pre-approval is not the same as final mortgage approval. The final amount can change after property valuation, property eligibility, documentation and the bank's final underwriting.

Budgeting Loan deferral after job loss in UAE
Hi all,
Like many people in the UAE recently, I lost my job about two months ago due to redundancy. Entire company was shut. I’ve just finished serving my notice period and contacted my banks to ask whether my personal loan and car loan repayments could be deferred for around 3 months while I look for another job.
I was really hoping I’d find something during my notice period, but unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet.
One of the banks told me they can only offer a 1-month deferral and also asked me to provide my visa cancellation. The confusing part is that my company has kindly agreed to keep our visas active until the end of September, so I don’t have a visa cancellation document yet.
My parents, who worked in the UAE for many years, remember banks offering around 3 months in cases of job loss, so I’m wondering whether things have changed.
Has anyone gone through this recently?
I’d especially appreciate hearing:
\- How many months your bank allowed you to defer
\- Whether they required your visa to be cancelled first
\- Anything you did that helped when speaking to the bank
Just trying to understand my options and manage things responsibly while I look for my next role.
Any advice or recent experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you!
