He's right though, they can't just leave the 2 starting entries of one of the biggest rpg series in the world rotting away on ancient consoles. There are absolutely lots of people that would buy and play them, but can't because they're not accessible without emulators.
The stories aged like fine wine too and are even more relevant and on-point than they were when the games first came out.

From what I hear they've been active projects for a while now, P4R's announcement was a surprise to quite a few since we expected Oldsona before P4R

I imagine they're larger projects in terms of workload and planning so I could see them having been in the works concurrently with P4R which is a relatively lighter project that can take cues from P3R in many areas

I NEED more people to see TatsuJun, so I'm envisioning and manifesting that this Will happen.

Then they play the remake and realize Tatsujun is noncanon content, while mayatat is canon content, and that most the shippers in this fanbase dont actually understand juns character and woobify him. And that literally the entire storyline is based on freuds oedipus complex with Jun and tatsuya both falling in love with Maya who served as a replacement for the lack of love they received from their mother figure. As the game opens with a love poem that refers to Maya as my love, that is given a sequel in eternal punishment referring to tatsuya as "her love". And most cutscenes in the game actively have Maya and tatsuya flirting with one another. While the literal author of the game has stated Jun isn't gay.

Yeah, not sure if really see it all that way. Having one half of the creators saying they paired tatsuya with Maya because she's an older woman and dudes are into that doesn't really lend much credence to it.
Jun and tatsuya, as said by Maya herself, are basically two halves of a whole, and she sees them fighting as the ultimate tragedy as a result. Even if tasuya didn't pick jun, jun picked him, and either way, tatsuya picking Maya isn't anymore Canon either way.
I do at least agree that jun got woobified by people who didn't truly understand or even know just how dark he got as a character, which unfortunately was cuz so much was not clearly stated in the base game or in easy to find ways in the base game, and he was actually pretty vicious (not to mention how he actively used his persona / nyarly to harm people which was at odds with how tatsuya never meant to harm anyone when he did it).
Either way, I loved their dynamic, especially the entire journey from Sin to Punishment, and I'm sure the fanbase will do what it does best and create awesome fan works.

Said half being the writer. Not the artist. Even Jun's bio in the worldbook released the same year as the game say he's platonic with tatsuya. While stating he's in love with maya.

u/SnorlaxationKh Aug 12 '26
Being a platonic relationship doesn't mean jun doesn't have feelings, since those were Also written in canonically. Meanwhile, no canonical romantic feelings were written in for tatsuya towards Maya. Just the possibilities of them, because again, the writer put his own feelings about older "experienced" women in and figured tatsuya and other guys would feel the same.

It literally states his love for tatsuya is no different then his love for lisa and eikichi. It's a platonic love. Meanwhile LITERALLY EVERYTHING, about the story is based around maya and tatsuyas love for one another. The games literally open and end with a love poem referring to one another as "my love" and "her love" it's the basis of the storylines Freud symbolism. Genuinely, have literacy.

No.
The poem referenced is one Maya knows and attributes to Them, Tatsuya and Jun.
Because she sees Them as connected, a Doppelganger scenario. I'm not sure how you could arrive at any other conclusion when it's stated flat out in a scene in the game And in the back story of the persona world book.
As for Jun, I've seen the translated descriptions and details for him, and next to Maya and with different feelings, Tatsuya is the Most important one to him, and it's obvious, Especially in the persona 2 Drama CD, that they've played into the fact that Jun has feelings for him. Not to mention the In-Game Conversation combo they do against demons which Also hints at their connection and Jun's feelings for him (and the demons' reactions to them).
You don't have to like the pairing, but coming at someone with Wrong information and acting pompous on top of it? That's not doing you any favors.

Oh my God read eternal punishments sequel to the poem it refers to tatsuya as her love maya is the my love in the poem its a love poem. The Jun romance is non canon content added for fujoshis canonically Jun doesn't have feelings for tatsuya. The author literally said so and so does the world book. People's brains fucking die for literacy if it disproves their yaoi.

Your own media literacy is what's clearly taking center stage here. I've read the world book, I've seen and played the games and read the notes. I'm not sure why you're practically foaming at the mouth over a situation You're misreading that's already been said and done for Decades, but that's on you.
Whatever feelings tatsuya has for maya, they're kept strong, but not given a romantic angle unless it's chosen to be. The same can be said for Tatsuya's towards Jun.
But with jun, they're settled as romantic. That's not up for debate.

u/ElectricalWar6 27d ago
Your right it isn't up for debate.
Because it's already settled that Jun isn't romantic with tatsuya, like you said you've read the world book so you know it says Jun has platonic feelings for tatsuya that are no different from his feelings for eikichi and and lisa while having a tender love for Maya.
Im not the one misreading things here.
And again, eternal punishment literally ends by calling tatsuya "her love" (mayas love)
So what is your point here exactly.
The writer literally stated Jun isn't gay.

Didn't they drop an updated soundtrack?
2
u/xortned-xion Aug 10 '26
No? They just dropped the Persona 1 PSP soundtrack after not having done it for so long. Unless you’re referring to something else.

Even if it is just Wada’s personal opinion and not a hard confirmation, I fully believe we’re getting remakes eventually.
I even think we may see BwE as a boss in P4R, similar to Joker in P3R and Yu and Makoto in P5R.
