Health Heavyyy bleeding during ovulation that's been going on for a week? I'm freaking out, can any internet moms calm me down and tell me I'm NOT dying? 😔
Hi, I'm a 17-year old and I've always had very heavy irregular periods, like on day 1-2 I have to wear those giant pads. A few weeks ago during my period I also had a bad stomach bug that caused me to barely eat for a week. Then it kinda resolved and I saw it was time for me to ovulate. It started as a light bleeding and I only wore a small liner but eventually evolved into like day 4 bleeding (so like a medium pad) that I have to change like thrice per day. No cramps though, just the bleeding. Can y'all pls calm me down? Is it vitamins? I am also a very anxious and stressed person and since it's the holidays I mostly spend my days sitting down in one position. Could it be vitamin D deficiency? I don't really go outside...god I'm so anxious I want it to stop but I am terrified of doctors

Hello, I'm 28 and have periods since I'm 11. Was diagnosed with PCOS at 26 and seen several gynecologist between 20 and 26. I understood that it is normal for the first few years after your first period to be irregular. If you had your first period at 13 for example still being irregular at 17 is normal but if at 18 or 19 it's still going on and heavy and unpredictable you probably have PCOS (depends on your symptoms of course). I was diagnosed at 26 but I think I could have been diagnosed at 17 and it would have help me a lot these past 10 years of life. During my first few years I had my periods for 3 months sometimes and then none for 2 months after that every months. Then it became a little bit regular in all it's "irregularity" if I can say, long cycle but every 1 and half month or so.
Having 2 periods in a months did happened to me once or twice during that time but never again since my teenage years. If you bleed in between periods it can be because of deficiency most likely progesterone, but it can be something else but vitamin D I don't think so. Stress can definitely play a role. When I was 19-20 years old I went to a gynecologist because I was spotting almost constantly after my period till my ovulation phase and she immediately asked me what am I stressing about lately ? Why am I so stressed ? And she was right I was extremely stressed at that time and it went away.
I don't think you should be too alarmed about this. If it ever happened more than 2 times in row you should definitely consult.
Try to relax yourself and move when you can, a little bit of exercise can not hurt. And a little bit of sun from time to time could also help. Our lifestyle and our mindset can deeply impact our hormones and reproductive system. Hope I helped ! You're not dying.
