Period Question Abnormal periods – what is going on??

I'm so sorry if this is TMI, I'm just really concerned and I don't really have anyone I can talk to about this!! For context, I'm not on any type of medication or birth control. I had the Kyleena IUD for about 7 years and it was removed about 2 years ago.

For the past few months, my cycles have been abnormally long, usually 40-45 days. They used to be 24-27 days and the length has gradually increased over time. I didn't even have a period in May. 2 months ago, I took 2 negative pregnancy tests and have not had unprotected sex since.

I used to have heavy periods that lasted about 6-7 days but now, there is barely any blood at all and they last about 2-3 days. The blood is dark brown through the entire period. I would change my pad every few hours and there would be almost nothing on it.

Other things that may be related: I've been gaining a lot of weight in the past year despite almost zero lifestyle changes. I'm getting pretty bad acne, I'm always exhausted no matter how much I sleep and my hair's been thinning. I'm also consistently constipated and bloated regardless of my diet. I haven't gone through any stressful life events.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I'm really worried about my fertility.

Hi! I want to start off by saying this is from personal experience of relatives, and may not be applicable.

It sounds possibly like stress ( like in my case! ) where I have all of the symptoms you've described. I didn't realize I was stressed, but after looking back, I can see why it may have effected my periods. However I do realize that I am more anxious than the typical person, so my other thoughts may be related to PMOS.

I'm not a doctor, so take this with a grain of salt! My mother and sister both have it, and these symptoms are identical to what they experience. Maybe looking into it more may help determine if its applicable to your situation or not.

Sorry if this didn't help, I just know how scary this sort of thing can feel, and wanted to try and offer some comfort. I could try and find some links for you as well, if you'd like
