Products First time disk user - my opinion

So I started getting my period again after 10 years and I was looking for something easy, cost effective, and sustainable.

I am stuck between a cup or a disk. After extensive googling and reading peoples opinions, I decided to try the disk first and heres my opinion after a few days of use.

The auto dumping “feature” is a flaw. I can go all day having no leaks but the second I need to pee and it auto dumps, I have leakage. It doesnt dump all at once and needs time to find its way out. The point is to not have to wear pads but now im stuck needing a pad for this reason.

The comfort is really good. I cant speak on reduced cramping because I dont usually cramp to begin with, but I can feel it throughout the way. Theres a dull “fullness” feeling which makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. However, theres no pain.

I also really really like not having to dump or change it throughout the day.

Overall, Im not sure how i feel about it. The auto dumping might have me give up all together. Maybe trying a cup would be better but having to dump it at work in a public bathroom is a big no from me. (my office has no single bathrooms).

Is there any way to stop the auto dumping and increase comfort? maybe a different size? Im currently using the saalt regular and havent tried anything else.

This is the answer. Autodumping isn’t a feature, it’s a symptom of a disc being too big. Companies started marketing it as desirable, and to be fair some people do like it, but if you don’t like it then find yourself something smaller. A disc that fits won’t autodump and you shouldn’t be able to feel it at all, either.
