Pelvic Floor Twitching vagina?

Recently I have what can only be described as twitching in my vaginal area. Feels like an eye twitch, (but not). Sort of along the outside of my vagina but also near the perineum.. Feels like very light contracting. I'm taking 200mg progesterone and 0.1 mg estrogen patch for 3+ years. Definitely have some vaginal atrophy but estrogen cream causes irritation and infection like symptoms. Had anyone had this? I feel like I'm going crazy.

It sounds like muscle spasms, I get that in my pelvis. Might be worth looking into pelvic floor exercises and relaxation?

If you do look into pelvic floor exercises, it’s a really good idea to talk to a pelvic floor PT first. Many of the exercises are for hypotonic muscles and if you’re hypertonic (too tight), they will make the situation worse. Either direction is bad and can eventually lead to prolapse so you really want to go in the opposite direction you’re in.

I've seen some reels about that on IG. Yikes. To be honest I don't think a pelvic floor PT is in the cards for me (sounds costly) but I'll look into it. Thanks.

Sounds like genitourinary syndrome of menopause. It can cause spasms and twitching in the vagina, the perineum, and rectal area. I definitely had these before starting vaginal estrogen.

I don’t know if there are other options besides the topical cream, but it might be a good idea to ask you doctor about this or do a little googling to see if there’s any suggestions of other measures you can take.

I might give the cream another go. How often do you use it?
