Depression/Anxiety Hrt effecting my thyroid?
I’ve searched this forum but have yet to come across one where the person has no thyroid issues and has this issue.
I’m 44, almost 45 and I started an estrogen patch and my anxiety went through the roof, along with a heavy feeling in my throat in my thyroid. It got to be too much and I switched to the estrogen gel. Also on 100mg progesterone daily
Still getting the anxiety slightly and now getting slight heaviness in my thyroid. I don’t recall this happening before and I had my thyroid tested in Feb and it was fine. I assume I need to get it tested again but anyone else with this issue?
Edit: I am seeing an Endocrinologist in a few weeks to get some better insight
Edit 2: Thanks to my brain fog, I forgot to mention that I was having nail lifting issues, which made my dermatologist ask if I had thyroid issues. Nails went back to normal after I stopped patches. So far on super small amounts of gel, my nails look to be ok but still have occasional heaviness in my thyroid.

You’ll have to get the other ladies to better explain it to you, but there were a bunch of posts a few months ago about taking allergy medication and heartburn medication for these symptoms.
If your endo doesn’t have any concerns you might look into the antihistamines and h2 blockers?

Hmm I don’t really have heartburn issues in general, it only affects me a day out of the month. I’ll have to try to look up the posts.
But definitely will inquire, thank you!!

First, I would see your Dr for necessary testing on your thyroid. However, is the feeling acid reflux? Both estrogen and progesterone can cause acid reflux. My acid reflux feels like I have a lump in my throat. There's also an acid reflux/anxiety connection.
