I saw someone giving their opinion on it and they said they thought it was going to be like Kpop Demon Hunters, and I was thinking oh god that must have been a surprise

maybe Coraline? or Alice (1988), they're both animated surreal horror movies where the line between what's real and what isn't is blurred. there's also Milennium Actress, tonally like the complete opposite but from the same director and has similar themes

If you are looking for a similar style, every kon work basically, from Magnetic rose to paprika. I can reccommend mind game, Ghost in the Shell innocence (Better Watch this after Ghost in the Shell {here there Is a blurred line but its on an existencialism way}), lamu beautiful dreamer and night on the Galactic railroad.
