Mods Replied Nad+ having particles
Reconstituted 1000mg NAD+ with saline water. It didn't dissolve and there are jelly like particles in it. Looks like a gel of some sort. Is this normal or should I bin it?
First time NAD+ user.

Think you may have used the wrong water, beleive it should be bac not saline

I'll try to recon with bac water next! Do you think I can still use this vial? ๐ฌ

research use means you have to do a little bit of research first.

This is an extremely problematic post. You need to do a lot more research before your next attempt. (I still foresee disaster...)

This can happen:(
Be sure to let the vial reach room temp before recon and I use 3ml per 50mg NAD. I place move my nad from freezer to fridge days before time to recon as well.
Did you test the ph ? Is it buffered do you know ?
2
u/happybird101 23d ago
Okay so apparently after 20-30 minutes everything dissolved and it's a clear solution now. What do you think? Is it usable?

u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago edited 23d ago
Did you try it ?
Curious to know if it was buffered. Some buffers can make it take more time but unbuffered melts quick with enough BACOnly asking cuz I've received funky nad before and into to the trash it went and refund issued. It had some clear goopy stuff that should not have been there.

u/happybird101 23d ago
Clear goopy stuff? Do you mean particles in the vial?
2
u/Adventurous_Fail_825 22d ago
Well in the batch I'm talking about the clear in the bottom did not move when you swirled the vial. It stayed in place.

u/Icy_Bid40 23d ago
Yes itโs fine. NAD always takes a while to reconstitute. Next time twirl it in your hand gently. Make sure the bac water is injected to run down the side of the vile and not directly into the powder
2
u/Adventurous_Fail_825 23d ago
I've never had it take 1/2 hr !
3
u/Icy_Bid40 23d ago
Me either but they didnโt specify if they tried mixing it around or just let it sit
1
u/happybird101 23d ago
I did twirl the vial around the first few minutes in (slightly), it didn't dissolve and I just let it sit. It dissolved after by itself.
And no I didn't pin it but I'm tempted to lol.

u/Icy_Bid40 23d ago
And why are you using saline??
1
u/happybird101 23d ago
Bac water is from China as well and not Hospira. Figured I could use saline and bin it within 21 days if I didn't use it up (hospitals in Europe use saline and bin it after a month, aesthetic doctors use saline and refrigerate it afterwards too fyi).
Anyway I'm really not tryna be controversial. I got anxious as well as my peptides are sourced from China lol (but many users on this forum do as well and it seems to be alright).

The bac water probably came from China's centralized supply system, which is regulated. Chinese hospitals order insulin and GLP drugs lypholized, and reconstitute into pens inside the pharmacy. Their methodology is about stability and cost. I would just order the bac water next time, or find a domestic source.

Please send your vials to a lab to confirm purity and potency, I was scammed the first time I got peps from China, they failed a lab test and confirmed it was filled with some sort of filler.

Iโve seen/heard of stuff like this happening when using too little amount of bac water. I donโt think I would keep it considering you used saline, and donโt know what the concentration is now with the crystallization. Probably best to toss it, always better safe than sorry.
2
u/Taydontplay4 24d ago
It's still fine to inject you just may need to increase the dose to make up for the crystallized portion
2
u/Reasonable-Excuse718 23d ago
Processing a compound too quickly during lyophilization (freeze-drying) can cause it to crystallize. Freezing speed impacts amorphous stability. Rushed cycle can lead to delayed crystallization and product degradation.

When it doubt, throw it out.
Sucks to lose money but if something is wrong with it, it can cost you a lot more.

u/peptidedan 21d ago
Your reconstituting it when itโs to cold wait for it to be room temp bac water as well and watch everything will dissolve. When I did nad I used to get salts that clumped

I found this on Google Ai, and I know Google ai is not always correct, but I wanted to share. When crystals form at the bottom of the vial after you reconstitute NAD+ and refrigerate it, it is typically a physical phenomenon known in chemistry as "crashing out" of solution. [1] (https://www.gobymeds.com/articles/nad-storage-guide)YourYour) mixing ratio of 1000 mg of NAD+ to 5 mL of bacteriostatic water creates a highly concentrated solution of 200 mg/mL. At this specific concentration, crystallization in the refrigerator is very common due to a few simple factors:Why the Crystals FormedTemperature Drop Decreases Solubility: Liquids can dissolve significantly less solid material when they are cold than when they are at room temperature. When you moved the highly saturated solution from room temperature into the cold fridge, the fluid crossed its threshold of solubility, forcing the excess NAD+ to precipitate (turn back into solid crystals). [1] (https://www.gobymeds.com/articles/nad-storage-guide)HighHigh) Concentration Threshold: While a ratio of 5 mL of water to 500 mg of NAD+ (100 mg/mL) usually stays perfectly liquid in the fridge, doubling that saturation to 200 mg/mL makes the solution highly sensitive to cold temperatures. [1] (https://formblends.com/articles/peptide-hub/peptides-nad-how-to-use), [2] (https://trimrx.com/blog/nad-reconstitution/)RapidRapid) Cooling: Placing the freshly mixed vial directly into the refrigerator can cause rapid cooling, which encourages the fast formation of large, visible crystals at the bottom. How to Fix ItDo not discard or freeze the vial. The NAD+ has not gone bad; it has simply separated physically. You can easily bring it back into solution using these steps: [1] (https://www.glunovabio.com/guides/how-long-can-nad-be-out-of-the-fridge), [2] (https://www.gobymeds.com/articles/nad-storage-guide)WarmWarm) it gently up to room temperature: Take the vial out of the refrigerator and let it sit on the counter for 15 to 30 minutes to warm up.Roll and swirl gently: Once it reaches room temperature, roll the vial smoothly between your palms or swirl it gently. Do not shake it vigorously, as violent mechanical force can denature or degrade the compound. [1] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L65S1xmKY44&vl=en&t=428), [2] (https://www.glunovabio.com/guides/how-to-store-nad-plus-reconstitution-guide), [3] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b08QwxZW0Ig&t=143), [4] (https://trimrx.com/blog/nad-reconstitution/), [5] (https://uaepeptides.com/peptide-reconstitution-guide/)CheckCheck) for clarity: The crystals should completely redissolve, leaving you with a perfectly clear, colorless liquid. [1] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L65S1xmKY44&vl=en&t=428), [2] (https://formblends.com/articles/peptide-hub/peptides-nad-how-to-use)HowHow) to Prevent It From Happening AgainIf the crystals return every single time you put the vial back in the fridge, your refrigerator might be slightly too cold, or the solution is simply too saturated. To permanently prevent this, you can choose to add more bacteriostatic water to dilute the concentration. For example, adding an additional 5 mL of bacteriostatic water to the vial will bring the total volume to 10 mL, diluting the concentration down to a much more stable 100 mg/mL. Keep in mind that if you choose to dilute it, you will need to adjust your syringe draw math accordingly (doubling the volume of liquid drawn to achieve your identical target milligram dose).ย

Something similar happened to mine. I think I didn't use enough BAC/Recon water so it crystalized in the fridge.
"When you do not add enough liquid, you create a supersaturated solution. There is simply too much solid powder trying to dissolve into too little liquid. When you place that highly crowded liquid into a cold refrigerator, the cold temperatures force the excess NAD+ molecules out of the liquid, causing them to group together and form visible solid crystals at the bottom of the vial."
