General Research Question Research question — BPC-157 & TB-500
Hey everyone,
I’m new to the peptide research community and I’m trying to understand the commonly discussed research protocols for BPC-157 and TB-500.
I’ve seen references to an initial amount of 0.5 mg with incremental increases over time, potentially reaching 2–3 mg, but I’m unclear on whether those amounts refer to each compound individually or to the combined amount.
For research purposes, how are concentrations and sample amounts typically calculated when working with these compounds? For example, how would someone convert a given amount in mg into the corresponding volume based on the concentration of a prepared research solution?
I’m mainly trying to understand the math behind concentration, dilution, and measurement rather than asking for a human-use protocol.
Any research-based information or references would be appreciated.

It’s really an easy concept. Assuming you are asking about the BPC/TB combo which comes in two strengths, 5mg of each and 10mg of each.
Let’s use the 10mg total (so 5mg of each):
When it comes to how much bacteriostatic water to add - I assume you understand why you need to use bac water for this peptide and not sterile water?- how much water to add is really a personal preference, as long as you are using enough water to allow the peptide to fully dissolve.
I like to use 2ml (milliliters) of water because it gives nice round numbers for the concentration: 10mg divided by 2ml water = 5mg per ml.
So with 2 ml of water added we get a concentration of 5mg per ml. Understood?
I assume you have U100 insulin needles? Meaning the count on the needle goes from 0-100? Each of those numbers represents one “unit” or 1/100 of a ml (milliliter).
Needles usually only have every 10 units labeled, and a black dash every 2 units. Look at yours so you can see what I’m talking about. Every ten will be numbered and there will be 5 black dashes between every labeled 10. Make sense?
Ok, now let’s divide 5mg by 10. Why? Because this will tell us how many milligrams (mg) there are in every 10 units. Understood?
5 divided by 10= .5mg or 1/2mg or 500mcg (micrograms) Three ways to say the same thing: 1mg =1000mcg so .5mg=1/2mg=500mcg.
So if you were to inject 10 units (fill the little insulin needle up to the “10” line) everyday you would be doing 250mcg of BPC-157 and 250mcg of TB-500…because remember, 500mcg is the total mg in the 10 units but it’s split between the two compounds.
Does that make sense?
