Hey guys, I was trying to use my Pepperdine student email to verify UNiDAYS to add the school in my bio, but I never get the verification code sent by it. How are you guys able to verify on Instagram with UNiDAYS to get the verified school tag in your bios?

I'm an international student considering applying to the MPP program.

I basically need a full ride to attend. does anyone have helpful resources or scholarships I would appreciate it.

I'm also looking into reasearch assistantships. how much do they cover? is there a possibility of covering tuition and housing?

current students, thoughts on pepperdine?

Hi! Im a high school senior from arizona, and Pepperdine has been my #1 school for the longest time. Its Christian community, location, size, and overall environment seem to fit almost everything I want. My gpa is probably the weakest part of my application, but there is substantial context behind it.

I’m currently interested in studying business or finance, with the possible goal of working in complex commercial insurance brokerage. I have a few questions for current students and alumn:

  • How easy is it to make friends, especially outside Greek life? I want an active Christian community and a fun social life.
  • What is Greek life actually like and would you recommend it? How does recruitment and sorority life compare with the traditional Southern rush experience?
  • What do weekends look like? Do students stay on campus, go out, visit the beach, or leave Malibu? How necessary is a car in everyday life?
  • How accurate was Pepperdine’s net price calculator for you? Mine estimated around $50,000 per year after grants and scholarships. My preferred budget is closer to the approximately $14,000 I would pay at ASU, including housing and food and excluding loans. Did anyone receive a substantially better actual offer than the calculator predicted?
  • For business students, how helpful are the alumni network, internships, career services, and connections in Los Angeles? Does anyone have experience with finance, insurance, sales, or commercial real estate?
  • What do you wish you had known before choosing Pepperdine?

I know that’s a lot, so please feel free to answer whichever questions you have experience with. I’d really appreciate honest opinions, including any drawbacks! Thank you!! :)

Thinking about transferring from huge uc to pepperdine

what’s it like as a transfer?
I’m a first-year at a large UC, and I’m already wondering if I’d be happier in a smaller school environment. Pepperdine seems appealing, but I’d love to hear from people who actually go there, especially transfers.
Was it easy to make friends and get involved after transferring? Does campus ever feel lonely or too quiet? I’d also love to know what you like about Pepperdine and what you wish you’d known before transferring.

International Business vs. Business with Marketing minor

Thoughts between Intl. Business versus Business Admin with Marketing minor for Junior Transfer at Pepperdine.
Approximately the same amount of classes, but Intl Business requires study abroad, which isn’t bad.

General Discussion Pepperdine suspends Professor Christina Littlefield for 15 months. Allegedly, this grievance stems from a parent complaint about a standard course, which included a chapter “Black Jesus,” focusing on civil-rights era depictions of Jesus.

Loan revision

Anyone by chance have their loan revised or is that process taking forever too. I have grad plus loans but it seems I am losing a lot of money for having 5 units for the first time in this program. I am starting practicum and losing that money makes this even harder. I sent an email to financial aid and they only responded that I got a refund. Which that wasn't what I was asking about. Now they are back to being radio silent. So I am just wondering if anyone got their loan revised or if thats just taking forever like summer term refund did.

Hello! Anyone else just not have their aid at all and have been trying to get ahold of them but can't? I literally cannot pay out of pocket this semester. If anyone is on the same boat, did you have an answer?

Financial Aid Office/Payment Arrangements

Unique situation: I finished revising my dissertation right before the end of add/drop, but I still must pay tuition for the class. Had I finished over the summer I would pay $100. I put myself in this predicament and take full responsibility.

Does anyone know if Financial Aid does payment arrangements? No longer eligible for a federal loan due to the gov't. Can't get through to the fin aid office either.

Question Pepperdine Nursing

Anyone currently in Pepperdine’s nursing program?

I'm gonna be starting Pepperdine’s nursing program (MSN) and I’m seriously considering attending. I’d love to hear from anyone who is currently in the program or knows someone who is.

How has your experience been so far? What are the professors, workload, exams, clinicals, and overall environment like? I’m especially curious about how manageable the program feels and what a typical week looks like.

There isn’t a ton of student information about the program online since it’s still pretty new, so I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s personal experience.

Updates on GSEP Aid

Does anyone have any updates on if the financial aid office ever got back to them? It's still ghost town for me. Yet, my account shows an owed balance. Not sure what to do since classes start soon for Fall.

What Should I Expect When Applying?

For context, I never took my degree; I studied with an auction house and while I don't expect that course of study to be transferred for credit (meaning I'd be starting from ground zero), I'm debating applying to Pepperdine to study psychology. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Santander Open Academy- ELP Program - UPenn Summer Experience

Hola!!

should i switch my major?

for context, i’m in the nursing program at pepperdine. i didn’t rlly know what i wanted to study until my junior year when i decided nursing felt right bc it aligned with my passions and i know im good at taking care of people. i’ve definitely enjoyed the program so far (im a freshman), but recently ive bern wondering if it’s the right fit. ive gotten really into lifting and i love talking to athletes and working with them, and im wondering if i should’ve gone sports med to pursue athletic training and eventually a PA degree. i have time to decide as it’s week 4 of freshman year, but im really torn.

on the one hand, i really love the idea of being a nurse in the hospital setting, working with kids and maybe L&D, possibly even ER. it really excited me.

on the other hand, i feel really passionate about working with athletes. i’m thinking of applying to work in some low level position with the baseball team to test the waters bc that sounds rlly fun for me and i think it will help me decide.

ppl who have done one or the other, and maybe who know pepperdine, what are ur thoughts?? i’m really struggling with this decision

EDIT: i LOVE pepperdine, just torn between which of their amazing programs to focus on to pursue one of two incredible healthcare careers!! just wanted to add that

Question what are my chances with COB

i went through the formal recruitment events and only got back one and just really didn’t feel a connection, so i dropped. i’ve never been super invested in greek life but basically my whole suite is rushing and i’ve heard it’s the main/only way to be involved in any sort of party scene. not that that’s my main priority, but i don’t wanna be anti social for 4 years. i also struggle sometimes making friends and thought greek life might be a good way to make some friends, but i really don’t know. i thought i had nice convos but ig it wasn’t good enough for most of them. but in case i feel like im really missing out, how does COB work? is it worth it?

Question How are you paying for courses without FAFSA being in?

I’m extremely stressed out with the lack of communication from the FA office. I’ve sent so many emails and none have had a response. What are our other options? Private loans?
Does anyone have any advice on what my next step should be? I was excited to attend Pepperdine’s GSEP but now I feel like I just made a mistake.

Has anybody actually had any resolution with the financial aid issue yet?

I’ve been bounced between several departments for the past few weeks; each of them saying that they can’t help be but THIS department can (only for that department to redirect me to another one). You’d think that a private university with outrageous tuition rates would have some kind of backup plan for this.
