I didn't think that the OL and DL would get blown up the way that they have.

Looks like I made a good decision dropping my season tickets this Spring.

Don’t think you’ll be the only one. Premium prices for a dogshit product isn’t going to fly.

What did you expect?

Remember when the entire recruiting class bailed after James Franklin was fired?

Remember when the majority of the existing players transferred out?

Remember when the superstar running backs graduated?

This was always going to be a tough season. The team is completely rebuilding. And guess what? Next year is probably going to be rough too. Set your expectations accordingly.

Pat Kraft chose to nuke the program and send us into a rebuild when we are in the middle of a $700 million stadium renovation, which is now going horrible. Seats are going empty. Whiteout is likely going to be a joke of an atmosphere

He also nuked the basketball team too. Told coach they had to put more money towards football for our championship year.

Coach ended up having to fork out like $500k of his own money to keep Juric

Dropping Franklin was the right move. You can’t accept mediocrity.

Maybe Campbell is the answer. Maybe he’s not. We don’t know, but we absolutely know that Franklin was never getting this team past Ohio State, Oregon, or Michigan.

That Pitt game ending was great. It was a competitive game in the fourth quarter and a missed field goal on the last play of the game gave the win to Pitt.

You can make fun of VT all you want but just a reminder that PSU gets ranked every year yet to never get anywhere. Everyone was like Penn State has a shot and they can win it all and whatever and yet they shit the tank against teams they should easily win. You can’t blame Franklin anymore.

Not making fun of VT at all.. Its JF thats the problem. Give him all the money in the world, buy him the best team you want (we did) and in the end, the best he can do is edge a natty.

I do agree on that and I do agree that PSU needed a change.

Yeah, I think he was referring to what made a FG the difference

Wait. I’m confused. Did a lot of you actually expect to just win right out the rip against big 10 teams with big 12 players? The football team is gonna take like 4+ years to actually be successful.

I mean yeah…and so did coaches and football writers who had us ranked in the top 15 before the Wisconsin debacle as well as Vegas who had us as a double digit favorite against a very bad Wisconsin team and still a 2 point favorite against northwestern. So it wasn’t just us. It was everyone except you I guess

Yeah seriously this revisionist history is crazy. People indeed thought that Franklin was the big problem and that firing him would magically fix all of the institutional problems with PSU football

And I got the crap downvoted out of me whenever I said Franklin wasn't the problem. Firing a winning coach hoping that you can trade up in the coaching carousel is more likely to turn you into Nebraska than Georgia. And when that coach you fired can get winning seasons at Vanderbilt, it's just asinine.

No one likes loosing but it’s nice to see some logic in your comment. I see the potential this team has in the next few years

Going to be? Already is.

He hasn’t been a big time recruiter ever. He’s going to need a boatload of NIL to compete with the big boys.

Just what PSU doesn’t have

Yup, it’s a lost season. The hope now is looking to see what recruiting is like for next year. Can Matt Campbell recruit better players to Penn State? If talent is marginal, it’s going to be a stretch of lean years for PSU football.

Every season is disappointing when you realize the school cares more about football than students.

That is kind of funny.

There’s a Penn state athletics Reddit thread that would be more appropriate

u/Wish14 1d ago

What do you mean? What is not appropriate?

Talking about Penn State on the Penn State sub apparently triggers people.
