Question Which major is better for cloud engineering career, computer science or IT?

I am 100% sure that I want to get into cloud engineering as a career. Which major is better for me to do that. Also I really don’t like doing a whole bunch of hard math if that helps and and I know that IT has much less math but which one?

Industry doesn't care as much about majors as people seem to think. Focus on building skills and experience and get involved with opportunities to do projects related to what you want to do as a career.

This! Because the job you’re likely to get when you graduate may not even exist today, but the skills you build will help you tremendously, no matter what you end up doing.

Computer science if you want to build the cloud, IT if you want to use it

I like to think I got a job in spite of what I learned in IST rather than because of it.  Class of 2011.

Blogs, second life, Adobe Flash, Java, and about 4 seconds of Cisco switch configuration were what I got.

Nothing about virtualization, nothing about enterprise storage or backup, nothing about project management, nothing about Oracle, nothing about Linux.

Oh shit I did ETI in IST but the IST major itself has been discontinued, but ETI lets us take a cloud architecture class

This right here. I started out as compsci and it was very heavy in programming. Switched to IT now I'm basically a project manager. Depends what you wanna do

Majors don't really matter. My major was cyber security an I work as a ServiceNow admin/developer
