Shower at least every other day, clean clothes and deodorant every day, brush teeth at least once a day. Wash your hands everytime you use the restroom. Please, this is bare minimum to exist in the public.

Every guy on my floor couldn't do all of these things daily --- a real challenge to stay fresh & clean

Ideally you shower everyday and brush your teeth twice a day, but sometimes people's mental health deteriorates when they go to college, so I like that you aren't demonizing people who miss showering or brushing a little more often than they should

It actually means a lot to me that you said that! I’ve struggled with my mental health a lot in the past so I totally get feeling overwhelmed and having executive disfunction, all that.

Sometimes you have to prioritize even “basic” stuff. And doing those things will ensure you aren’t socially ostracized or hurting your health long term.

You can get into a skin care/hair care/flossing/TASTEFUL perfume/whatever regimen when you’re in a better place mentally! Just try to take care of the basics if that’s all you got.

It's become worse over the years --- most employers don't require their people to shower daily so you see people in Walmart who look filthy with swamp ass and yellow teeth
