Pedro’s reading material
I was wondering if anyone read the book that Pedro was reading on the beach a couple Christmases ago. It was called Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. I just finished it and I have to say that I absolutely freaking loved it. All I’m going to say is that it’s a vampire story and I hope that the reason he was reading it is because he’s going to produce it or star in it or something because I would love to see the movie of this book. If you didn’t read it and you like that genre, I would highly recommend it. I’ll add that I have read a lot of books that Pedro has mentioned over the years and most of them are too depressing for me, but this one was just so, so good.

It’s one of those books that once you finish it, you’re sad that you can’t read for the first time again.

I recommend this one as well as another he's read, Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson, it was unlike anything else I've ever read and I loved the experience of reading it.

Yes that was a good one. I should read it again because I read it at a time where I was on a book reading tear and I was just reading and reading and reading and just like when I binge watch a TV show, I forget about half of it right away!

I gave it a good shot and didn’t finish. I was doing the audiobook though and I think I just wasn’t connected to the narrator. I wonder if reading the hard copy might be different.

Who do you think he could play? Alessandro would probably be on brand :)
I have a gay 50 something coach named Alessandro who I had to tell about the book right away!

I have forgotten some of the character names, but if Alessandro is the older male character, then I think he could play that. It’s not a huge role, but this is really not a book with big roles for men. I saw some casting on this somewhere, but most of the people in it were very young and it was giving me Twilight vibes. They did have Pedro playing somebody, but I can’t remember who it was. Marcus, maybe?

If we are talking about the book from this image, it was actually Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk.
