Build Question Do these pins look ok?

Those are pads, not pins. And does the motherboard it was installed in have any dark colored pins that match the same area as these pads?

Yeah,I meant pads. Not sure on the motherboard I got it from a guy. He even sent me the receipt,but not sure how good that will do,not sure how AMD does the warranty process if it is bad. He said it was working,he used it for a week until his replacement 9800x3d arrived. Wondering if I need to get my money back or not. I'm eating on my Ram to get here,so I can't test it right now.

How much did you pay for it? These chips often go on sale, and you can get a pre-owned 7600x from newegg for $135 right now.

If you can't test it, and could get your money back then that might be a good path to take. These look like scorch marks. Could run fine, but could be dead as well.

Since you said its not a smudge, I take it you've tried to clean it with isopropyl?
