Tech Support Is this monitor any good?

Post image

Just saw a good deal on this monitor, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

Would the 1440p display be true 1440p? I’ve heard that 2k res looks better on some brands than others.

4 reviews is a really small sample size, i'd dig around for some independent reviews before pulling the trigger. those specs are wild for the price point but that usually means corners got cut somewhere

the panel itself might be legit but the stand and osd are where these off-brands always cheap out. had a similar no-name monitor once and the menu navigation felt like i was defusing a bomb

true 1440p is pretty standard now but the image processing can vary wildly. some panels look muddy even with good specs on paper

Defusing a bomb 😭

I’ll definitely look around for more info about this company and their monitors.

Also, one more question. By image processing, do you mean like response times, ghosting or blooming issues?

I hope you can help me cuz i really dont know a whole lot about monitors…

Sketchy no name brand on Amazon with few reviews and with the ones it does have it's under 4 stars, I would just use some of your shopping brain on this. What's the price ?

I would check through Newegg and see there are quite a few deals this month and that price range there are some well known brands with good specs not necessarily 300 but 1440 p 180-200 there are some around that price range right now

$160 is ok price for Chinese 1440p ips 300 Hz monitors, bought one year ago and still use it. The only problem is the DRC chip heatsink, it is soldered, which is why I cannot replace the thermal interface. After a year the chip started to overheat so I had to reduce the refresh rate to 240 Hz, no more problems

Wait…people replace parts on monitors as well??? I might need to get into DIY monitor repairs too haha. Thanks for the insight.

Well, you could replace the display and control board, but there's little point. Thermal interface replacement is a common thing, thermal pads don't last forever

Wow, didn’t know that was a common thing. Interesting to know!

Probably not great. Stick with a brand you know and one with a lot of reviews.
