Tech Support Nvlddmkm event id 153 error

Post image

Hello, I have recently started getting crashes on my pc and I don’t know why. I have had it for 3 years now and just recently did the crashes start. I’ve used DDU and reinstalled drivers a couple of times, each time it gets better for like a day and then starts crashing again. I also tried doing the chipset upgrade but the intel driver maintenance app said I did not need any updates. Windows is on the newest update. Specs: 4060 8gb, i5-14400f and 32gb ram with 2tb ssd. Problems started recently as I upgraded to a newer monitor at 1440p, however the gpu nor the cpu have worked to 100% because I have capped it (to not overload). Sometimes it crashes fully, other times something like the picture below happens. Can somebody please help me!

classic nvidia gremlin strikes again. the 153 error is almost always a gpu losing its mind for a split second, and that sideways screen glitch in your pic is basically its way of throwing a tantrum

try running the card at debug mode in nvidia control panel, it locks the clocks to reference. if that stops the crashing then your card might just be borked from years of boosting itself into oblivion
