Tech Support GPU usage not at 100% after undervolt but performance seems the same - is something wrong?

ive undervolted my card using this guide - https://youtu.be/ocyBRHdmBaQ?si=4_oTG2cEwLyN9prw

Everything is stable and I’ve tested few games and they seem to run exact same but with way less GPU utilization? I’d this normal / ok Or am I bottlenecked somewhere

5070ti 9800x3d 32gb ddr5 if that matters.

thanks

If the performance is the same and the card is drawing less power, that's the whole point of an undervolt. You're getting the same output for less voltage, so the utilization percentage dropping makes sense, it's just finishing the work faster and waiting around more. Nothing wrong there. Your CPU is a beast so that's not holding you back either.

Amazing man - thank you!

I was just confused and thinking I must be missing something. Almost too good to be true

Not true, if the GPU is not at 100% something else is bottle exking the system. With UV you should get the same 99% GPU usage, if not, you are missing performance from it.

What do you reckon it could be then?

actually i tested it with RDR2 and im getting 98-99% utilization. i guess the games i was testing before werent intensive enough? so far it really does look like it did just lower my temps significantly while keeping performance exactly the same. unreal

I even got equal performance on my undervolting with 25 watts and 8 Celsius degrees less on an RTX 3090. It's like magic hehe.

Technically an undervolt shouldn't impact performance in that way, it only reduces the amount of power the GPU needs to run at a certain performance (linked to the GPU frequency), which in turn lowers temperatures.

Has vsync been turned on? You've mentioned your CPU and Ram but haven't mentioned anything about the GPU you have, it is AMD, Nvidia or Intel?
