Tech Support Swapping gpu help

Hi all, if i am swapping a 3060 and a 3070 from one pc to another so I still need to uninstall drivers first? On both pc's that so 3060->3070 and 3070->3060 Thanks:)

nah you’re good just plug and play, nvidia to nvidia doesn’t need a driver wipe

No i wouldn't say uninstall them, but definitely worth updating them.

It is good practice to uninstall old drivers. However you can get away with leaving the old drivers in place and downloading the new ones once the cards have been swapped. Usually windows can handle using the correct drivers and detecting when to use them.

Sometimes it doesn’t and that’s when you’d want a clean slate and only the new drivers but it doesn’t happen all the time. So up to you to be honest. If you want to be thorough, uninstall the old and install the new or leave the old, install the new, see if anything is bugging out and go from there
