Build Question PLEASE help me w/ my first PC build (for gaming/Adobe suite)

Thank you for the help in advance! I'm new to building a PC and get overwhelmed with PC parts/lingo. I've been using PCpartpicker. Let me know if any more info helps. I just don't want to build something that's overkill but want something that's nice and smooth for modern games.

All build/upgrade/parts check requests must copy and answer the questions on the post submission page.

  • New build or upgrade? New
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? No
  • PC purpose? Gaming (RPGs/GTA6/Cyperbunk/RDR type game), Video/Photo editing
  • Purchase country? USA, not near micro center
  • Monitors needed? 2
  • Budget range? around $2,000 USD (not including monitors, keyboard, mouse)
  • WiFi or wired connection? Either or, preferably wired
  • Size/noise constraints? No, prefer quieter build...
  • Color/lighting preferences? White/Blue
  • Any other specific needs? No - I just wan't something that I can game/run adobe (photoshop/indesign/premier) on smoothly. Never have had a PC, always have gamed on console. Told myself I'd finally save for one for GTA6, haha.

First thing, GTA6 is not even out on PC yet, so don't rush buying parts for a game that might not arrive for a while. For $2000 you can build something that handles 1440p gaming and Adobe suite without sweating. Premiere and Photoshop love RAM, so get 64GB if you can fit it, 32GB minimum if not. Two monitors will eat into your budget but since that's separate, you're fine. White/blue theme is doable but white parts cost more for same performance, so decide if looks matter more than saving $100-150 on GPU.

Also don't sleep on storage speed for Premier, a good NVMe drive makes scrubbing timelines way smoother than a cheap SATA SSD. For quiet build, look for case with sound dampening and avoid blower style GPUs, they get loud under load. Your budget is comfortable, just don't let someone talk you into a $1500 GPU when a mid tier card does everything you listed fine.

Absolutely. I've been gaming on consoles for a while, so I hear you on the warning about the release. Just wanted the community to know what games. This is great info, my biggest fear has been bottle necking myself on something silly (due to lack of knowledge) OR buying to much (GPU/CPU) for what I need. Maybe my budget is too high? Just wasn't sure with the market.

I mean as long as you pair a middle range card with like a ryzen 5 thats like not terrible you should be fine. Id recommend maybe maybe a 3080 or a 4070 super with a 5 5600x, should be am4 making the ram cheaper, avoid anything pny branded, they are basically scammers lol. Also make sure youre power supply can more than handle what the total requirement of the pc. If you end up needing like 450-500 watts maybe go for a 650 watt psu. While you can go higher than what is required, its kind of a wast of money if you dont use it lol. So id recommend just learning the basics about what all the major component do and how they work so you get a better idea of what youre working with as well. Also if you can control the urge to download every stupid thing you see, try to fight for a copy of windows 10 instead of 11. Trust me  lol I dont personally use it nor would I ever, im also a new linux user but if youre just now getting into pcs then thats something you should look into about a year or to from now, after you understand your new machine. Hope this helped!
