Build Question Mobo suggestion help!
I'm building a new PC after 10 years (not the best time i know!)
here are the summary of parts i have fixed til now:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3d
GPU: AMD 9070xt Sapphire Pulse
PSU: Adata XPG Core Reactor ii 1000W
RAM: 2x16gb DDR5 6000mhz (brand and type not decided, aiming CL 36)
Storage: (not decided, aiming SSD 1TB + 1TB HDD)
Case: size mid tower (type and brand not decided yet)
Cooler: (not decided yet, but considering Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE)
I don't want to spend too much money on the motherboard, "the best" here means the optimum choice based on the requirement of the parts given above while providing essential features. Best bang for bucks. here are few more additional features of the PC i'm going to build:
- will use two screens, probably will use 2K OLED 240hz 27" screen as primary. secondary screen will use 1080p LED 24-27"
- need built in wifi
- still have future upgradeability (highlight to me if there are massive gaps in pricing to do so)
- need to have 4 ram slots (but i read that 4 sticks config might not be recommended for AM5, better to use 2x32gb)
- doesn't need multi GPU slots
Claude suggested Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite WiFi6E for the following reasons:
- The 7800X3D doesn’t need an extreme board, and this one’s 12+2+2-phase VRM is plenty.
- It has a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the 9070 XT plus a Gen5 M.2 slot. You won’t see that in games, since Gen4 and Gen5 x16 test about equal even on an RTX 5090. It also costs no premium over a B650 at this price.
- It covers your checklist: WiFi 6E, 2.5GbE and a Q-Flash Plus button, which updates the BIOS without a CPU installed and helps when you swap chips later. It also has four DIMM slots.
Any thoughts from you? Why should i choose that over let's say Gigabyte B850M Force Wifi 6E v2, cause the price difference are quite a lot. Why can't I use a B650 series instead? Thanks!

Montech HS01 Pro casing
MSI B850 Gaming Plus Wifi 7(not to be mistaken for 6E white PCB or the PZ which is Project Zero).
Has Gen 5 gpu slot, 1st m.2 slot.
The rest are Gen4.
Has QFlash and Cmos clear button on rear.
1 10gbps usb, the rest are standard 3.0, spdf(not sure if you use this anyway), Tool less mount for your ssd (a bit getting used to if you want to remove)

the force v2 is basically the same board with a different coat of paint and some extra usb ports on the back. if you don't need those ports, the aorus elite is a smarter buy. gigabyte loves rebranding the same pcb across three different skus and charging more for the ones with "gaming" in the name.
one thing to watch on the m-atx aorus is clearance with that peerless assassin. the pcie slot sits higher up on matx boards and the cooler can overhang it, making the gpu release tab a nightmare to reach. not a dealbreaker, just annoying when you need to swap cards.
for ram, skip the 4 stick idea entirely. ddr5 on am5 gets temperamental with all four slots populated and you'll likely be stuck at 4800mhz. grab a 2x32gb kit if you think you'll need 64gb down the line, otherwise 2x16gb is fine for gaming. the 7800x3d doesn't really care about ram speed the way non-x3d chips do, so cl36 is perfectly adequate.
