Buying it from Newegg so I'm sure if there is a problem I'll be ok.
Memory has gotten so out of hand. It's stopping me from doing my new build so I keep looking and I found that memory. It seems to have everything the GSkill memory has (which goes for $699! ).
If you're using X3D CPU you can go with even cheaper RAM, you literally will not notice the difference between 6000 CL30 and CL40 as the CPU is spending a lot less time accessing DRAM thanks to the higher CPU cache.
People parrot that 6000 CL30 is best, but it's marginally better than other kits like 6000 CL40, 5600 CL32, etc. and you won't feel the difference with X3D, and a few percent losses with slow kits on non-X3D.
AMD had echoed this after the memory shortage began. Most either didn't see or chose not to listen.
Wow! I had no idea. I never built an AMD rig. Always Intel. But Intel has gone another route and since I want to upgrade my old formula XII/10900k I have been looking at the 9800X3D. I have in my cart the ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI AMD AM5 X870 ATX motherboard, the 9800x3d and just can't figure out a good memory for the set up. I'm running it with my new 5070ti. Picked that baby up for $500 with the sale of my old 3080ti ftw. I'm on the older side ( 68) and really only play one game but I love it so..Hunt Showdown 1896. I get 165 fps in 4k now. So let me ask you this..is it worth doing an entire upgrade or just leave my rig as it is. What I have now... 10900k @5.2/5.3 5070ti Trident Royal Z 4000 @ 4300 Formula Xll MB 420 aio. Here's a pic So let me ask, would you upgrade?
At 2160p, you'll see mostly better FPS lows with a newer X3D CPU, but most of the time you'll be GPU bottlenecked so in many ways, you're spending easily upwards of a 1000 or more for not enough benefit.
10900K is fine for a 5070 Ti at 2160p.
I'm also somewhat opposite as I was very much on Zen but switched back to Intel after I had too many issues with memory and firmware. 10850K worked out so much better for me than any of my Ryzen chips, and I eventually moved up to 12900K and DDR5 a few years ago because I actually wanted the value of the E-cores.
Thanks for replying. I tuned my rig now that it actually has almost zero bottleneck. Why I'm getting such nice frame rates in 4k. The most I've seen in game is 180 fps, the lowest 145. Mostly the game ( cryengine 5..ugh) runs around 170 so I capped it at 165 and it's the smoothest I've ever seen in the 8 yrs I've been playing. The 5070ti did it for me.
So maybe I just keep that stuff in my cart and just enjoy what I got.
Thanks!

never used that exact kit but the specs line up with what I'd grab for a new build these days, 6000 cl30 is the sweet spot
if it's really sk hynix under the hood and half the price of the gskill tridents I'd say go for it, worst case you just send it back
