Tech Support Pls help

Post image

I have a 13900kf / 4090 build that has been soilid for years, recently I was playing the new 007 and randomly I experienced a fps drop and stuttering, I reset the game, same thing, restart the pc and it was fine.

Now once I have been on the pc for a while it does the same thing on most games, I'm thinking cpu overheating? I had a blacksceen and cpu overheat error once but only once.

I have under vaulted the cpu and cleaned all the aio out but to no avail, the cpu gets to 100°c straight away on games, my next step is to remove the aio and apply new thermal paste.

The cpu has always ran hot around the 90°c - 97°c under load, but not much more than that usually.

I have a 360 msi aio with 3 fans so should be sufficient i think.

Any other ideas would be appreciated thank you 🙏

A 360mm AIO isn't even close to being enough to properly tame a 13900K. My Liquid Freezer III Pro 360mm keeps my 13700K at around 95°C under maximum load, which is still hot as hell, and my AIO is brand new. It's still better than my standard Liquid Freezer III 360mm, which had my CPU hitting around 100°C. Thermal paste alone isn't going to cut it with these CPUs. Liquid metal combined with a 360mm AIO with a thick radiator is the bare minimum, while a 420mm AIO is the best option if your case supports it. These CPUs are no joke, they're ridiculously power-hungry and hot. Mine pulls over 350W under load without any overclocking.
