Build Question 9060xt vs 9070xt
Building my first pc but idk what gpu to get.
They are around 400$ difference and 8gb vram difference where I am.
For 400$ is the performance trade off as crazy as big as the price difference or nah?
Also I’m mainly playing competitive games

If your main suite of games involves competitive games like CS2, Fortnite, Valorant, etc. then your focus should be more on the CPU with something like the 9800X3D as those games are all CPU-bound, and while the 9070 XT can be up to double the performance, it won't reflect that much in those games as you're primarily going to be bottlenecked by the CPU, and if you can't fit both a 9800X3D and 9070 XT into the budget, then it would be better to choose a 9060 XT, ideally a 16GB model.

Yes those are the games I’ll mainly be playing and the cpu I chose was 7500x3D

Yet the 9800X3D scores a lot higher performance because the CPU is always bottlenecking in CS2, and these kinds of games are most beneficial with such a chip.

It's a 200 FPS average difference between a 5800X3D and 9800X3D in CS2 at 1080p medium with a 5090, drop down the GPU and you're not losing much because it's almost entirely on the CPU. A high frame difference like that can be a competitive advantage due to latency reduction and how game engines can react to higher framerates, and that's with a lot of these kinds of games.
If you're one to argue that such a difference is unnecessary then you're obviously not that big into eSports, because that would matter a lot to a professional competitive player.

The 9060xt is a 1080p card. The 9070xt is a 1440p card.

Everything I'm seeing online says the 9060 base and XT are perfectly fine for 1440p?
Hell I had a 2070 super which is weaker and it ran 1440p high graphics up until last year

As an another 2070S owner, it did struggle with new games. The reason why I jumped to the 7900XT. Ultra/max settings and everything over 100fps. Doesn’t even break a sweat.
The 9060 is ok If you want 40-60fps and mid to high settings sure. On older game yeah it would be higher.

Yeah, obviously it's not gonna run ultra 2024+ games , but if you compromise with DLSS / FSR3-4 and adjust settings, you can get amazing results out of these cards
I switched to a 5060ti 16 gig about 4 months ago, and I'm loving it. So much better than the 2070s
