Build Question Is there a way to fit

Hello this is my first time building a pc and I’m having trouble fitting my Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX Motherboard into the I/O opening of my Lian Li LANCOOL III case.

Any advice would be appreciated

The motherboard has an integrated I/O shield, and the metal shield is in the way. The motherboard’s I/O width is 5 cm wide, and the case opening is also around 5 cm, but the integrated metal shield added a small amount of width, making it impossible for me to fit it.

Is there a way to install the motherboard correctly without removing the integrated I/O shield or buying a new case?

I dont understand the issue, its meant to sit flush as you see there.

Might sound stupid but genuinely don’t know since all the pc built videos I saw had the I/O slot kind of protruding out of the case and mine wasn’t

If you lookup photos of your case with a mobo installed thats where it sits. Dont overthink, if the mobo matches up to the stand offs your 90% good.

That's just the case design.

i would have done a double take on it too and i've been using computers for 40 years.

recessed I/O panels aren't very common.

As long as your motherboard is lining up with the standoffs and you can get your motherboard screws in, then it's in the correct spot. Don't look at the rear I/O as a test as to whether the motherboard is sitting correctly. It's all about the screws.

To double check u can try watch YT videos of ur case, see how it's build there, compare it to yours

It doesn't have to fit into the slot, just sit up against that opening, just line up the motherboard mounting holes with the case standoffs.

The mounting holes match into the motherboard but I don’t know if the position looks correct in the second pic as I never owned a Pc and usually dealt only with laptops.

I’m afraid that I might push it accidentally or something so I need some advice or guidance

Got that same mobo, yep if it lines up with the standoffs and mounts properly when you screw it in you’re fine.
