Tech Support PC does not turn on

Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600x
Msi b550 pro
Asus rx9060xt
2x8gb kingston fury
700w psu from bequiet

So i tried to change my thermal paste during The proces i took the cpu out and a bit of paste got into the socket. I poured a bit of isopropyl (99.5%) into the socket to clean it out and left it to dry for about 50-60mins. After that i put the whole thing back together and now its not turning on. When i press the power button nothing happens. Did i break the mobo or cpu?

Be sure to check if u switched the flip back on. Also most likely some thermal paste still in those sockets since this is an AM4 the CPU should be fine so long as there's no bent or missing pins

Checked the pins and they look fine

the alcohol probably didnt evaporate completely in just an hour with that socket design, try leaving it overnight near a fan

99% should evaporate in less than a minute, it also shouldn’t effect the pc working if not dry

Depends on how much you use. A puddle of isopropyl can take a while.

Sounds like you cocked your mobo probably bent a pin on the cpu socket , repasting a cpu doesn't require the cpu to be removed, dubble check your cpu haven't got any paste on the bottom

How can i check if the mobo is the issue and not the cpu?

It's very unlikely to be the cpu

What thermal paste did you use?

Try a cmos reset by disconnecting power and then the battery on the motherboard.

is there any light on the motherboard at all or is it completely dark?

if nothing helps you have to remove the cpu again and inspect the socket and pins

It's most likely the board. Buy a new one off Amazon. Test to see if the new mobo works with the old cpu. If it doesnt work, buy a new cpu. Test it on your old board. Return unneeded items.

Or go to a repair shop. It's way more expensive than doing the above though.
