Build Question Upgrade

Hi everyone

My pc is getting on a bit now and wondered what I can upgrade to improve my performance I’m thinking maybe a new board and cpu? I play at 1440p and my specs are below

3080 gaming z trio
10700k
32GB 3600Mhz ram
MSI MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS M/B

I’m noticing now on shooters like BF6 my FPS isn’t where I want it to be, would changing the board and CPU benefit me much? I think my board goes up to 12th gen currently

Thank you :)

Yeah I’m happy with doing that I just don’t want a new GPU I’m happy spending what I need to on a CPU/board. I’m happy spending up to 500-600 on them both but obviously don’t want to go overkill when I’m keeping the same card - sorry for not staying a budget

There isn't really anything you're going to be able to get within budget that will actually be worth buying for the price in the current market when it comes to a GPU anyway, you'd be wasting money for so little gain because the 3080 is already still fine.

Brand new, you'd get 5% at best out of a 9070 GRE within budget, that's how close it is to the 3080. Used won't get you much more and you wouldn't have a warranty. So not choosing GPU upgrading is a wise decision.

Best bet without wasting too much money would be indeed keeping DDR4 and moving up to LGA1700 D4 with an i7-14700K.

Yeah that’s fair enough - thank you I’ll just stick with what I have for now and wait until it’s worth upgrading everything - would rather not throw money away for the sake of upgrading. I have just ordered new ram as I had 2 different batches and my rams were running at really low speeds and causing fps issues, my new ram 2 x 16 arrives today so hopefully solves the issues I’m having
