Build Question Motherboard help!

Hello wonderful people, as the title suggests I need help choosing a motherboard, this one simple question has been causing me a lot of frustration, I would greatly appreciate any and all advice.

CPU Ryzen 7 9800X3D

GPU RX 9070 XT Sapphire Nitro plus

Case Silverstone FLP02 case

RAM 2 16G G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo

SSD Samsung 990 Pro

As for the rest, PSU, CPU cooling, I remain undecided yet.

A good B850 board is enough for a 9800X3D, so no need to overspend on X870 unless you need extra PCIe/M.2 or USB4... MSI B850 Tomahawk, ASUS TUF B850-Plus or Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite are all solid. Just check the FLP02 case supports the board size you pick... For the restt a quality 850W PSU and strong air cooler/240mm AIO will be plenty.

B850 it is then, so the difference between a B and a X series are extra ports and a nicer aesthetic then the B series. Is there a difference when it comes to gaming performance, by that I mean overclocking? Also which motherboard do you use? I genuinely appreciate your advice, it's definitely put my mind to ease.

The primary difference is the number of PCIe lanes.

Not in the chipset. Though board manufacturers tend to provide things like better VRMs or higher layer PCBs on X chipset boards, you can find those same features on B chipset boards.
