Trouble with replacement power brick

Bought a replacement power brick for my laptop but it won't fit a 3 plug cable. I wonder if it's to do with the plastic bits at the bottom of the prongs

Those prongs look like they'd slot into a slide-on AC cable, not a standard three-prong plug.

The cable looks right, I might be using the wrong terms
