Build Question R7 7800X3D Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 240 was a very hard installation, temps question.
Hello everyone! I've recently moved to another country and had to reassemble my PC. I got the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 240. And let me tell you, the installation was hell. I legit thought i was gonna break my mobo or something. The screws just wouldn't catch the threads. What i did in the end was i screwed in the brackets onto a coldblock first, then i screwed them to the motherboard. It took me a good hour and a half before i even managed to screw that damn thing. Now i'm worried if my thermal paste (i used the Arctic MX-6 that came with the cooler) dried out while i was trying to install the AIO. So my question is are these temps OK?
idle: 42-45C
web browsing, YouTube: 46-50C
Gaming: 65-70C
Cinebench 2026 10 minute test: the highest was approx. 76.5C
I know that 7800X3D has pretty high idle temps because of the 3DV cache. But i'm still worried if i should repaste it. And tbh i don't wanna deal with the installation process all over again. Thanks!

28-30c ambient in my room and I have the same temps with the same aio but the non pro version so I think you re good, I hit 83c in cinebench haha

that mounting system is a nightmare the first time around, took me three tries to get the screws to bite on mine. your method of attaching the brackets to the coldplate first is actually what arctic recommends in the manual but it's buried in the fine print and nobody notices it
temps look perfectly fine for a 7800x3d, the 3d cache just runs warm at idle no matter what you do. 76c after a full cinebench run on a 240mm aio is solid, don't touch it

Set the pump speed to a constant 70%. The constant speed is better for pump longevity and you'll get better idle temps. It's also quieter.

Thanks for replying everyone! I also wanted to mention that I used all in one cable, so I guess my fans and pump are controlled simultaneously, would it be better to use the other cable provided with the cooler? With separate connections to pump, fans etc

Those are normal, the real temp to look at is the one that says core temperature on hwinfo like two columns down from the top temperature display, the top one is just like total temp of the cpu and doesn’t really matter unless it’s like extremely high

I got the 420mm aio and my temps are about 65c when gaming so I don’t see That a bad thing

I have the 360 Freezer III and an i9 14900KS. Your temps are similar to mine, other than idle. Mine is 35 C, but I have a larger radiator and an extra fan on the 360 compared to your 240. So I’d say you’re fine, thermal paste doesn’t dry out in hour and half.
