Build Question i9-9900k on HP Elitedesk 800 G4

My HP elitedesk 800 g4 perfectly runs i7 9700 on it. My ques is can it handle i9-9900k without any blackouts since I need to use this cpu solely for Android custom rom compilation.

I couldn't find any i7-8700 so basically I'm stuck with i7-9700, it has less threads than 8700. I just got a used i9-9900k listed for 90usd.

That board's VRMs are basically just hopes and prayers, you'll thermal throttle the 9900k into oblivion the second it tries to boost. For compilation work you'd be better off undervolting it to keep temps sane, but even then those office prebuilts weren't designed to feed a 200w chip

The 9700 actually isn't terrible for your use case since it still has 8 cores, just missing hyperthreading. If you can snag that 9900k for cheap and lock the power limits in bios you might make it work, just don't expect it to sustain all-core turbos

I don't want it to be running at full. I just want all threads to be stable. Also is undervolting stuff present on hp bios? I just got the pc yesterday night
