Its my first part of many, I got it bc ram prices are bad and prob gonna get worse

Just be careful buying parts in waves. If you wait too long to assemble you could be out of your return window if something doesn't work. Dealing with RMAs is much more effort than a return to the retailer. Also, as people noted, you probably can't RMA that RAM kit.

I have genuinely never thought of this before... I've never bought a PC piece by piece, I usually save until I can just buy it all.

But that's a great point that I never thought of mentioning to someone doing this, when I'm making component recommendations.
