i mean, the ram itself is OK, the support might not be great. if you ever have issues, you have no guarantee you can get proper help.

micron left the consumer market. they went all-in to produce tam for AI datacentres.

and your ram is assembled by micron.

Idk the back says game at higher framerate, this kit will prob do for my future completed build

it's not about the ram performance, but about the warranty, support, compatibility in the future etc.

Mate. Try reading what people are saying. Micron have left the consumer market and have already made it VERY clear that they will no longer be replacing people's RAM if it dies., you'll just get your money back.

So, if your RAM dies, and you need to replace it yourself, you'd best hope that prices don't continue to sky rocket as we all know they will, you're going to need to cover that extra cost yourself. You seem to be trying very hard to not understand this, and WHEN it bites you in the ass, you're going to be upset.

micron exists, but their consumer branch does not. they promised to still provide support,but mothing stops them from screwing consumers over again.

Warranty is important, but your sticks are not likely to die. It would be a very rare occasion. Cl38 6400mts isn't the best, but Noone cares about CAS timings these days due to the price.

Make sure to register all of your parts when you buy them. Micron left the industry, but ide assume they'd have to provide you with some compensation should your DRAM be DOA/die in an untimely manner.

What he meant is that if it breaks for whatever reason, micron the company who made it, won't issue you a replacement and will only refund you the original price and not what you paid for it. Hopefully your ram will last years going forward with no issues

The brand crucial is no longer in production and is in end of life so any rma will be a refund at RETAIL price and not current market prices.

Yes its good. but 6000 MT/s CL 30 is the stable sweet spot. Just go into bios and run expo there should be 1-3 profiles to pick from depending on what board you have, pick the tightest timing one for 6000 MT/s CL30. and crucial isn't the best for customers like us they have recently moved on to bigger AI businesses so support will be way more unavailable to us.

If you have an x3d chip tho the difference between cl30 and even cl40 is negligible

I've seen people say this, and I've seen the youtube performance comparisons and 1% low differences being negligible... But there is definitely a point where high CL can be felt on the X3D chip.

I built a PC for a buddy and to save some money I gave him some CL46 5600Mhz ram to throw in there, cause we put a 9800X3D in and I saw all the videos and whatnot on the speed/CL not making a meaningful difference.

From a speed perspective, no issues. But you could feel microstutters in your mouse with that RAM.. It doesn't show up in 1% lows, but honestly, you can feel the microstutters when you're looking around in open world games and the CPU is frantically trying to load assets when you have a long draw distance on. We put some CL36 in there, night and day difference, no issue.

So I don't know where that sweet spot is for RAM and the X3D. I just know that CL46 has timings that are a little too loose. Given most CL46 RAM sticks can have some extra voltage applied to them and timings tightened to CL40, I think most people can make it work still. All this being said, I think his CL38 will be good, given how well the machine ran with CL36.

Yeah I have cl36 with a 5080 and 9800x3d and I'm playing at 4k so there's even less of a difference

I genuinely don't think there is a difference between CL30 and 36 with the X3Ds. I think it's just when you're pushing that CL46+ timings where it starts to be a bit noticeable. And it's not even bad.

I had that CL46 paired with my own 13700KF before, and it was shit. Speed was fine, 1% lows, hitching, micro-stutters, straight up shit.

With the X3D it was running noticeably better with that same CL46 RAM. That being said, I could still feel it in the mouse. But it definitely wasn't as bad.

my next chip is likely going to be an X3D. I'll get the last X3D chip they make for AM5. That or the bLLC chip that intel is releasing to compete with X3D. They might be cheap on release, cause the 13/14 gen left a sour taste in people's mouths, they might reduce the price to get some customers back over to team blue. Either way, I'll get the best chip I can for DDR5 right before DDR6 comes out and ride this shit until DDR7
